"Hey everyone, it's JC and Pauline here at the Dino Dome where we're doing the first pageant for the Year of the Dragon: the Mr. Zodiac Pageant."
"That's right, you've seen what they're athletically capable of. Now it's time to see if they've got the grace and poise of dragons," said Pauline.
"The pageant is pretty simple for the men," said JC, "All they have to do is show how they look in evening wear, in swimsuits, and show what kind of talent they have. And believe me, it's not easy getting tuxes for all these different shapes and sizes."
"I hope they keep their deposits," said Pauline.
"Deposits? Who else is going to wear those tuxes?" asked JC.
"Probably other Dinotopians of similar species," said Pauline.
"Anyways, considering just how many male Dinotopians are in this pageant (as well as the herm Dinotopians who preferred to be in this one and not the female pageant), we can't really show you the entire thing right here," said JC.
"However, we do have a highlight reel," said Pauline. With that, several pictures of the male Dinotopians in their swimsuits appeared. They ranged from the enormous Andrew to the svelte Roland, but each one showed that they were all in excellent shape.
"Really? That's our highlight reel?" asked JC flatly.
"What? It was a highlight for me," said Pauline.
"But what about the talents?" asked JC.
"Well, to be honest, most of the talents were feats of strength or something based off them being Dinotopians," said Pauline. Here, there was footage of Mr. M bending some metal rods into pretzels or Luke spinning several hula hoops around on his long neck.
"Yeah, I guess some talents aren't quite performance material," said JC, "However, one particular performance stood out from all the others' in terms of both art and eye-catching."
Here there was footage of William Tarr performing the Birdcatcher's Song from Mozart's The Magic Flute. And there was little that can top in attention-grabbing than a Parasaurolophus dressed in feathers and playing the panpipes. And yet his resonant voice, aided by his crest, carried quite well and he sang a simple English version instead of potentially mangling the original German.
"I had no idea that the mayor was so musically cultured," said Pauline.
"Apparently, his wife, Candace, has been expanding his musical tastes," said JC.
"I guess that would make her the Papagena to his Papageno," said Pauline.
"Which makes me wonder if she'll be doing something similar for her talent performance," said JC.
"Well, we'll find out tomorrow. That's when we'll have the Miss Zodiac pageant. And after that, the Fire-Breathing Curry Contest for those who want to get bonus points and finally the race up Zodiac Mountain," said Pauline, "Be sure to watch it as we show it."
