Stacy was a close friend of Kaylee’s. During a recent visit, she had used Kaylee’s shower and cleaning products, having not brought her own. Afterwards, they had dinner at home and Stacy had done the dishes as thanks.
Now, Stacy was out with friends at a bar to celebrate the end of their college exams. She had ordered an appletini from the bar and was sipping away when she suddenly felt dizzy...
at first, she had chalked it up to the drink being stronger than usual but then she noticed her formerly-tight little dress seemed a little loose around her curves. She excused herself to go to the bathroom where she could check out what was going on in private.
As she looked in the mirror, she gasped. While the change was subtle, it was obvious to her that her formerly-form-fitting dress seemed a little baggy around the hips and chest... She couldn’t believe it! What had happened? Had her dress somehow stretched out or something?
She tried not to panic as she checked herself over in the mirror. Her clothes definitely fit differently now, but nothing else seemed amiss. The only thing that could explain this was some kind of rapid weight loss... But how could that be possible? She had just weighed herself this morning and her scale said 120 pounds! How much weight could she have lost within a day?
“Perhaps I just had too much to drink too fast. Maybe I’m just getting paranoid,” she justified to herself. “I need some fresh air!”
She made her way back out of the bathroom, but as soon as she stepped outside she knew something was definitely wrong. Everything seemed just a little bit bigger than when she had entered the bathroom. It wasn’t much yet, an inch, maybe two, but it was enough for her to notice.
As she continued through the night, she tried to brush it off and enjoy her friends’ company. After half an hour, she went back up to the bar for another drink but was carded by a particularly vigilant bartender. He examined her ID, then looked her over carefully. Stacy started feeling self-conscious about how much smaller she must have gotten as the man’s gaze lingered on her, then back to her ID.
“Miss,” the barman said with a frown, “do you really want me to believe that you’re 5’6”?” He held up the ID, scrutinizing it against Stacy’s height again. She was now only about five feet tall! She had shrunk around six inches in just half an hour!
“W-what?!” she sputtered, “I... I don’t know what you mean! That’s my real ID! It can’t be wrong!”
The bartender shook his head and handed the card back to her. “I’m sorry, but if you’re going to buy a fake ID, at least get one where the measurements match.” He gave her a stern look. “A young woman like yourself should know better than that...”
Stacy was mortified! She couldn’t believe what was happening! Her whole body had shrunk down by half a foot in just half an hour! She didn’t even want to think about how much smaller she might get if this kept up.
She tried not to panic as she made her way back over to her friends, who were still sitting at their table and chatting away happily. They barely noticed when Stacy sat down next to them again... until one of them glanced over and did a double-take.
“Stacy, what happened to your dress? It looks like it’s about three sizes too big for you!” she exclaimed with surprise. “You look so tiny in that thing!”
All eyes turned towards Stacy now as they realized something was definitely wrong... but no one knew just how serious the situation really was yet.
