“We have been cleared to tell our spouses.” answered Mary “Not the kids or step kids, don’t want it going out over social media or the like. That is what the elders have decided.”
“And our spouses can’t do the same? They can record on a phone just as easily as the kids.” inquired Monica as she took a slip of her wine. “With the kids at least the youngest ones we can call it part of their imagination.”
“I am not concern about Lucy saying I am a mermaid.” stated Stacy as everyone looked at her slightly confused. “Lucy has a mermaid kink; I actually own one of those fake mermaid tails and Lucy and I…well you know. If she posts something like that, I just have to pull that thing out. Besides I think she will be thrilled to become one of us."
“By Poseidon I don’t need to know that about my sister-in-law.” stated Rose as she rolled her eyes. She was married to Mike; Mike was Lucy’s brother and Lucy was Stacy’s wife making Rose and Stacy sister-in-law.
Then a smirk crossed Rose’s face as she looked at Stacy, it was smirk that both of them knee well, Rose was about to get back at Stacy.
“Well I guess brother, like sister.” Stated Rose as it was Stacy’s time to groan. The two of them had been best friends since childhood and had spent most of the time trying to either one up the other while helping the other out at the same time.
In truth, Mike and Lucy where not blood brother and sister but had been foster siblings which had gone through the same horrors of some really bad foster parents before leaving the system behind.
“Well you two should be easy.” Stated Mary “Both kids however will be problems.”
“I know.” Stated Rose, she had been the first to marry and had the oldest kids most tied to the human world. While Stacy and Lucy as a lesbian couple had adopted their children and since Lucy had grown up in the system, they had taken on some older kids who would have stayed in the system.
“My Fred shouldn’t be much of an issue, but I want one of you there when I tell him, turning from human to mermaid while pregnant takes longer then normal.” explained Mary, all of them knew they had transformed into their true form during a long soak in a bathtub more than once. “Don’t want him freaking out and doing anything to the baby.”
“That leaves me.” Stated Monica as she looked toward the wall where a photo of her late husband rested. John had passed away in a car crash almost ten years ago having only just married Monica, he had left her with a child which he would never know. “I assume Tony and my step-children will be allowed to come even though we aren’t married yet?”
“Yes, but how you plan to get a man who is afraid of drowning to become a merperson I have no idea.” Confirmed Mary, Tony and Monica had been dating for just over three years and had gotten engaged only a few months ago. The issue was that Tony had almost drowned as a child and was now afraid to go swimming in anything higher than knee high water. A mermaid with a man afraid of water was one of their favorites inside joke against Monica, who took it in strive and tended to give more then she got.
“So the question is who do we do first and how do we want to go about this?” inquired Rose
