“I think I’ll create a Virtual Novel,” Jeff says to himself after thinking for a while, “since the characters don’t move in Virtual Novels, I wonder if I will be able to move, I guess I shall see. Maybe I myself, once inside the game, am able to move, but someone playing the game, for him or her, I’d be motionless. The only thing that would “move” would be the changing of my facial expressions and posture, depending on what I am “saying” and the “situation” I am in. But no one will play the game, so I don’t have to worry about someone messing with me,” so Jeff opens the “game creator” window and starts designing his game.
However, Jeff failed to fully read the description, so he missed the sentence at the end, which says, “once you have created your personal game, it will be automatically uploaded to the App-store, so that everyone is able to enjoy your work. You will be added to the “character list”, even when you are logged out, causing you to be connected to the game. If someone should choose you as “their character” for the game, you’ll vanish from your reality and find yourself back in the game and in the last location the game has been saved at. Furthermore, any alterations happening in the game will affect your physical body. Should you be transformed into an animal, the opposite gender, an anthro… anything happening to you, physically and/or mentally, in the game will seep into the real world! So, for example: if you end up being transformed into a cow, you will return into your reality as such when the player logs out of the game. To prevent such an error from happening, we recommend you to disable the possibility of being chosen as a playable character”.
Unaware of this danger, Jeff wastes no time in designing his very own Virtual Novel, “okay, first the theme,” he says excitedly to himself, “I think I’ll go with medieval, in every medieval story there has to be some witches and wizards, so I’ll add that. Next I want the story itself to be a romantic love story, but with an adventure vibe, so the characters, including me, will be listed as “adventurer”. Now, I’ll activate the clothing selection to be from the time period, some weapons and jewelry and each character will start the game with some starting money, hm… I think 200 gold, 300 silver and 500 copper coins will do”.
The more Jeff designs his game, the more excited he becomes, “next I’ll activate the “task” option, that’ll cause me and other characters to be able to earn cash by doing various types of tasks,” he mumbles to himself, “now to choose the location where the story should start. I think a good start will be if the characters and myself would spawn between a forest and a nearby village or town, the player then can decide if he or she wants to head to the town or explore the forest”.
Satisfied with the settings of the game itself, Jeff moves over to the character creator list, “okay, I’d like the world to be a world where humans and anthros live peacefully together,” he says, “now to give the characters and KIs random skills, for me, I’d like to earn a skill by learning from someone. Finally I’ll add some wild animals, like wolves, deer, bear, horse, also some mythological creatures like unicorns and dragons and some domestic animals… some cats, dogs, chicken,…”.
Jeff leans back in his chair, tapping his chin thoughtfully, “did I miss anything,” he asks himself, “nah, I think it’s enough. If I’d need to add something I can do that while I’m in the game or after I log out”.
The teen grins and rubs his hands together, “now, time to get this adventure and experience started,” he says and hits the confirmation button.
Sudden there is a blinding flash of white light and Jeff suddenly finds himself in a weird place. Jeff looks around and notices that he is in some sort of emptiness, when he looks in front of himself he notices a holographic screen with his stats like, “health”, “strength”, “money”, “clothing” and other details, even his gender, sexual orientation, what he is attracted to, his skill/ability, which is blank since he hasn’t “learned” any yet. Jeff also activates the option “animated sequences”, this will allow the game to have certain scenarios animated, like when a male and female have sex, when a transformation or some other magic occurs, and other types of small animations.
Jeff smiles, “looks good so far,” he says, then looks down at himself and his eyes widen when he realizes that he is naked, “um… hehe… better get some clothes on,” he says and reaches out a hand to open the “clothing” option of his menu.
Unaware to Jeff, his game has appeared in the App-store, though the “game” has sexual content and themes, there is no age limit shown since Jeff hasn’t added such a safety guard, because he thinks that only he is able to play the “game”, unaware that now any one at any age in the world is able to download, install and play the “game” he had created. The screen of his Laptop changes: instead of showing the Chronivac, it now shows the starting screen of a Virtual Novel with the title “A Medieval Adventure”. Below the title there is a message which says, “please select clothing”, and below that the motionless and nude image of Jeff himself, with his “trouser snake” in full view. In the lower left corner there is an arrow and the words “back to characters” and in the lower right corner an arrow with the word “start”.
Jeff is unaware that, as he reaches out to choose an outfit, that someone is about to take control, and due to his settings and him failing to read the full description, he will not realize that someone else could be controlling his movements, actions and decisions, to Jeff it will feel as if HE is in total control, that he is making the choices himself, unaware that someone else is controlling him.
