Mary awoke several hours later. She stretched her arms and let out a deep, loud yawn. She still felt a bit groggy, but didn't want to sleep through any more of the day. She slowly got to her feet. Her head began to throb, and she decided to take a shower to wake herself up.
Her headache subsided by the time she had made it to the bathroom. She assumed it was from standing up so fast. She yawned again and scratched her head.
She froze immediately when she turned to the bathroom mirror. Her hands felt the new, red bushel of hair that now rested atop her head. She looked at what was undeniably a lion's mane growing from her scalp. It was incredibly thick and wavy, but not entirely curly. The hair didn't just grow from her head, either. Pushing back the strands, she found that more of the red mane was growing from sides of her face, under her ears and on her neck.
Mary felt behind her to see how long it was in the back. She felt the mane duck under her shirt. She pulled it off and turned her back to the mirror. The red hair was growing from her upper back as well, tapering to a point in the middle. All over, her mane's locks were between six and eighteen inches in length. She had to admit, it was very stunning, albeit very unusual. With a trim here and there, it would make for a much more alluring hairstyle than her previous look. The feel of the smooth strands brushing against her body was appealing to her as well.
"So the vials are the real thing," she thought. She ran her hands through her luxurious mane once again, purring as she pondered what she would do with the vials.
