Goldie had decided it would be best to take Chenoa back to her cabin to see if there was anything she could do for her god daughter there. Chenoa's friends, as well as Sebastián and Mary Elise had gone back with them. Goldie skimmed through any medical and magical books she had to try and find a solution to saving her god daughter, but she could hardly keep her composure as she slammed books onto the floor in despair.
"Damn it!" Goldie said as she sat down in a chair next to Bear. Goldie held her god daughter's hand as Chenoa looked back at her with a reassuring smile.
"I'm still breathing, Mrs. Locke, that's good right?" Chenoa said.
"Can't we....I don't know, call my moms? Maybe they can help with her? Jackie could help her?" Stephanie suggested.
"Chenoa's power is special and your mother's magic from her ring would be like putting on a band aid. It wouldn't help much." Goldie explained.
"Well....what about, Life? Travis's mom? She could heal her right back up." Amara then suggested.
"No, she creates, and what we do afterwards is our own ambition. As I said before, Chenoa's magic and power is part of her and heritage." Goldie said.
"What about her parents? Have they been informed of what happened to her?" Mary Elise asked Goldie and Bear.
"They have," Bear answered. "I notified them when Goldie called me, before you arrived, they'll be along shortly."
Amara and Stephanie looked at their friend and hated that they didn't have anything else they could offer their friend. Pretty soon, Chenoa's parents, Tokala and Maka arrived and saw their daughter lying on the ground with Goldie and Bear near her.
"Father, Mother, I'm so glad to see you." Chenoa said smiling happily but looking sickly.
"It's our fault, we let her get her power and magic stolen from her." Amara admitted as Chenoa shook her head 'no' just slightly.
"No, Amara, it wasn't your fault. Camillia, was the one to take it, I know she didn't want to. I could see it in her eyes, she's had a change of heart now. I think she'll eventually do...good. She sounded so kind now....I'd like to meet her again someday. Maybe she can be my guardian angel. I...feel...like one right now." Chenoa said weakly.
"Don't say that." Stephanie pleaded as she went to give her friend a small, but loving hug.
Tokala and Maka looked to their daughter, then to each other.
"Tokala, it's time." Maka said to her husband. "Yes, you're right. I believe it's time now." Tokala nodded in agreement.
"What? No, mother, father, please, I just....I just got you back. Don't leave me alone again." Chenoa said with tears starting to form in her eyes.
"My wonderful daughter, you and your friends gave so much to save us. Now we must save you." Maka said as she and Tokala embraced their daughter.
Goldie and Bear looked distraught with Stephanie and Amara unsure of what was going on.
"Mrs. Locke, what's going on? What are her parents about to do?" Stephanie asked worriedly.
"Stephanie....Chenoa's parents, are going to give their own magic and power to their daughter to save her." Goldie explained.
"No! They can't! There has to be another way." Amara said.
"We're out of options right now. The five of us....Chenoa, her parents, as well as myself and Bear talked about this ever happening, we just...never wanted it to happen." Goldie said as she held Bear's paws tightly.
"Bear and Goldie will raise you well. They'll make sure you grow up into a beautiful woman." Tokala said as Chenoa couldn't hold in any of her tears. "We're happy you have so many good friends now. That Miles boy, he's a keeper. Don't keep your despair now, you may miss us, but we'll never forget you. We'll love you forever, our dear, sweet Chenoa." Maka said to her daughter as Tokala and Maka took their daughter's hands and began to say something together in their Navajo language. As Chenoa's parents spoke, her ashy skin color became mocha once again and it seemed like her strength was returning to her. Chenoa's parents laid down next to Chenoa as they gave their daughter a last smile and hug, then they were gone.
Chenoa laid there with her parents next to her motionless as she then stood up and went to hug Goldie and Bear who themselves were crying alongside Chenoa. No one else had a dry eye in the house and Stephanie and Amara could hear animals outside making noises as well. They knew that some important people of the forest were gone. Chenoa was alive and better once again, but now had the magic and power of her parents inside of her.
