After leaving the store, Chris decided that enough was enough and began his journey home. Already it was getting late...and he was starting to get tired. Funny...usually he was able to stay up quite late.
During the drive home, his mind kept pondering that strange necklace. Eyes would glance from the road towards the silver heap that sat on the passenger seat. He just couldn't get his mind off of it. There was just something about it...but right now he tried to shove those thoughts aside and focus on the road. A few times, glances to the necklace almost caused him to ram into the car ahead of him.
Once he pulled into the driveway of his house, he grabbed the necklace and jumped out before rushing to the door. The house was dark now...which wasn't uncommon when his parents were gone. They were the type that liked vacation...a lot. He was used to it though. Steps carried him up the stairs and towards his room.
Chris sighed as he looked down to the silver pendant once he closed his room's door behind him. What was about this thing that caught his interest? Hell, he even spent twenty bucks on the damn thing. His eyes went to the mirror that stood over his dresser and a thought came to his mind. Chris grasped the chain of the necklace and then slipped it over his head. Like in the store, he felt a tingle sweep through his body. Perhaps just...static electricity? He didn't quite notice though, eyes fixated on the pendant. It seemed to shine even more then...and the glimmering appeared to come out in different colors.
A harsh wave of fatigue came over Chris then. He teetered a moment, a hand rising to be placed onto his forehead before he fell back and onto the bed. A groan and his eyes fluttered shut before he was out cold. All the while, the necklace shimmered brightly...
