Using her diapy isn't as fun when Ivy isn't around to join her. But even if Leah was allowed to use the potty, which she isn't, she would still be a diaper filler. That much is obvious when she wakes up wet, farts, and is suddenly wet and messy.
Whatever the workers are feeding Leah is going through her. She's noticed her actual toddler peers tend to poop more than an adult, or in her case, a teenager. Somehow, over the course of the week, she's slipped into the same pooping habits. Her morning diapy is far from her only messy one of the day.
There are only two other toddlers today, both overnights like Leah. So the workers let them watch TV the entire time. It's a good distraction from what Leah is dreading, but seems more and more likely: that she'll still be in diapers even after she leaves the daycare. Unfortunately, it's also a distraction from her body's urges and needs. Leah doesn't realize that she's messed herself until she's lifted into the air and carried over to the changing table.
The pattern continues throughout the day. Leah hasn't just lost the ability to control when she potties. She hasn't just lost the ability to tell she needs to potty. She's also lost the ability to tell she has already gone potty. The workers eventually just let her toddle around only in her diapy, like the other two toddlers. Leah never really developed breasts, so she looks no different from the other girl toddler there, Riley.
Leah doesn't care anymore. She doesn't care about being only in her diapy, or using her diapy, or anything else that would have humiliated her back on Sunday. She's not looking forward to using diapies after she goes home, but that's more because Tina will have to change her. The actual act of using her diapy is something she now enjoys. When she realizes she's doing it.
In fact, all Leah cares about is her binky, naps, and snacks. With those provided to her on top of the distraction of the TV, she has a pretty good day. Even without Ivy around.
Saturday comes to an end. Leah is changed out of the diapy she didn't realize she poopied in, bathed, and placed in her crib only in her diapy. She curls up, smiling at the thought of going home. She tries to focus on how great it'll be to finally leave, rather than how upset Tina and her father will be with her, for needing diapies for real now.
