"What does this one mean?" He asked the lady at the help desk who had shown him the catalog.
"OH, that's my world." She said with a smile. "No one there is sure why, but there are certain times of year where some people suddenly turn into the opposite sex. There are a lot of legends about mischievous fairies or how stars align but as far as an actual reason it just seems to be human biology there. Scientists compare it to how clown fish swap sex based on population ratios. Anyways, since it's been apart of our lives since we could remember, we decided to have festivals for it. It happens four times a year, once each season."
"So people randomly cha ge during the festival?"
"Something like that. There are traditions you can try to make yourself more likely or less likely to change." She told him.
"Any idea if they work?" He asked.
"In my experience, yes. My girlfriend wanted to experiment, so once football season was over, I won us the last game by the way, I took the next festival to swap."
Oliver looked her up and down. She appeared to be about 20 so Oliver assumed it was a college team. She had long legs that her short pencil skirt showed off, big boobs, and her blonde hair was in a pony tail. He would have never suspected that she used to be a guy.
"How's the experiment working for you?" He asked.
"Well I'm enjoying it but she wants to try being the one to swap next. Another festival is coming soon, so it would be a good time to move in if you are interested."
Oliver thought about it. "Okay, I'll take a ticket."
She gave him one and directed him to the train. Oliver took a seat and a few other people joined on the train. The passengers were of various ages and sexes. Nothing to suggest a pattern of who got pulled in. Listening to conversations he learned some of them felt they were born in the wrong body while others were just curious about being a different sex. The train pulled put and soon entered a tunnel. The light started to dim and soon Oliver awoke in the new world.
