To Glory's relief, not only could she reveal everything, but her obedience charm compelled her to do so. She took a deep breath.
"Before I was transformed to a mare called Glory, that was the reflection I saw in the mirror every day," she neighed. Mikhail stepped close. The farmhands, unaware of what Glory had said, looked at each other in confusion.
"Explain," he said softly. Glory whinnied.
"Gladly."
As Glory told him everything, Mikhail had the other mares chime in to confirm their identities. Once they finished their story, Mikhail sent the farmhands to fetch his parents. He then went to each and every horse, carefully examining them in a way he wouldn't have if he hadn't suspected them to be truly human. Dmitri was good at keeping people together and calm, Yevgeney came up with plans, Anya had raw power, but Mikhail was good at details. And the details he could see painted a picture that confirmed their stories.
His heart broke for his brothers, now pregnant mares, and he couldn't believe the missing Crown Prince was in his stable, a pregnant mare as well. Carrying the kingdom's next heir, as he could tell her foal was a colt. Mikhail reassured them all that they would be taken care of as if they were solid gold, and once they gave birth, they would be returned to human form, along with their foals.
Finally, the Copperstone parents arrived. Mikhail eagerly told them everything. The parents confirmed for themselves what they had been told, then broke down into tears, embracing their missing daughter.
"We should have known those damned rebels were lying," Mikhail said. Glory shook her head. She didn't blame them for behaving the way they did.
"No need for apologies or anything. But could you please remove the obedience charms?" she begged.
