The Zoo

You hop the fence and become a colt

added 3 months ago A Mental Equine

As you perched on the fence, a strange warmth began to spread through your body. The sensation was initially subtle, like the gentle rays of the sun on a spring day. You glanced at the attendant, but she only smiled encouragingly, her eyes reflecting an uncanny depth of understanding.

A tingling began in your fingertips and toes, growing stronger and more insistent. You watched, fascinated, as your fingers started to merge, the skin knitting together, forming smooth, glossy hooves. Your shoes fell away, forgotten, as your feet transformed similarly. The change spread up your arms and legs, muscles thickening and reshaping, giving you a sense of burgeoning strength.

Your legs elongated, bones shifting and realigning with a series of not entirely unpleasant pops and cracks. You felt your balance shift, your posture altering as you instinctively dropped to all fours. Your spine lengthened, and you felt an odd sensation at the base of it—a pressure that grew and extended, forming a tail that swished experimentally behind you.

The warmth moved up your neck, your face tingling and then numbing slightly. You could feel your features stretching and changing: your nose and mouth extended into a muzzle, teeth reshaping to suit a herbivorous diet. Your ears migrated to the top of your head, growing longer and more sensitive to the myriad sounds around you. Your eyes widened, taking in a broader, more vivid panorama of the world.

Your skin prickled as a short, fine coat of hair sprouted all over your body. It was a soft, chestnut brown with a few patches of white—distinctive markings that would identify you among other horses. Your hair transformed into a mane, running thick and full down your neck, which had now lengthened and curved gracefully.

As the transformation completed, you felt an intense rush of energy and newfound freedom. You shook your head, feeling the weight of your mane swish back and forth. The scents of the stable were now much stronger, richer—each one telling a story. The foals watched you with bright, curious eyes, and you felt an instant kinship with them.

You trotted around experimentally, getting used to your new form. The ground felt different under your hooves, the breeze played through your mane and tail, and every movement felt powerful and effortless. You glanced back at the attendant, who gave you a knowing smile and a nod.

Feeling an irresistible urge to run, you broke into a gallop, muscles working in perfect harmony. The foals quickly joined you, and the three of you raced around the enclosure, the world blurring past in a symphony of colors and sounds. The feeling of running with the foals, your new friends, was exhilarating beyond anything you had ever experienced as a human.
