The Zoo

You ignore it

added 2 months ago A Mental Equine

The small voice of doubt in your mind grew fainter as the mare beckoned to you with a soft nicker. The pull towards her was irresistible, an instinct so powerful that it drowned out the remnants of your human consciousness. You stepped forward, your hooves making soft thuds on the ground, and approached her cautiously.

The mare watched you with gentle, understanding eyes, her presence radiating warmth and safety. As you nuzzled her, the familiar scent of her coat filled your senses, and a deep sense of belonging washed over you. She lowered her head, allowing you to nurse, and you latched on instinctively.

The act of nursing brought with it a profound comfort, a feeling of being cared for and protected. As you drank her milk, a strange sensation began to fill your mind, as if your thoughts were being gently reshaped. Memories of your human life—of Jessica, the traffic, and even the transformation itself—started to blur and fade, replaced by simpler, more immediate experiences.

You remembered being born on a warm spring day, the soft grass beneath you and the gentle nudge of your mother encouraging you to stand. You recalled the first tentative steps you took, wobbling but determined, and the pride you felt when you finally managed to run alongside the other foals. Your world became one of play and exploration, of learning the hierarchy of the herd and the comfort of your mother's presence.

The more you nursed, the more these new memories solidified, becoming the foundation of your identity. The complex thoughts and emotions of your human life dissolved into the background, replaced by the straightforward joys and challenges of being a young colt. You felt a profound connection to the herd, a sense of belonging that anchored you in this new reality.

Your mother nickered softly, her warm breath ruffling your mane as you finished nursing. You looked up at her, recognizing her as the center of your world, the one who would guide and protect you. The other foals came up to you, nudging you playfully, and you responded in kind, the instinct to play and bond with them as natural as breathing.

You trotted away with the other foals, feeling a sense of freedom and joy that was pure and uncomplicated. The wide open space of the enclosure beckoned, and you ran with your new friends, the wind whipping through your mane, the ground solid and reassuring beneath your hooves.

As you ran, the last vestiges of your human life slipped away entirely, leaving you with a deep-seated contentment. You were a colt now, a part of the herd, with a future full of discovery and adventure ahead of you. The stable was your home, the herd your family, and the mare your loving mother.
