Rose sat at her dining room table with a cup of coffee in hand just thinking about how everything was about to change. The werecat in human form knew this day would come, sooner than her friends did for sure. She didn’t know about being recalled, that was surprise but she knew sooner or later she would have to tell her family about what she really was or rather what they were.
She looked toward the wall to see her standing proudly beside her husband, Oscar, and their oldest daughter Penny. Penny was wearing a track and field uniform for the local high school with a large medal around her neck and a large trophy in her arms. Both she and her husband had massive smiles across their faces and were deeply proud of their girl.
Penny looked almost like a copy of her mother, same dark red hair however she did the slightly darker skin of her father and was taller then Rose was by an inch or two.
“Of course she won State…she is my daughter after all.” stated Rose with pride as she looked down at her arm and let the magic keeping her human form up, drop in that spot. She did this every so often, it was a risk but she just had to look at her real skin every so often. The orange fur with black spots became visible on her flesh.
“I am a were cheetah after all.” stated Rose as before she let the magic return, turning her skin back to the human flesh color.
She looked at the clock, she was supposed to be at work but she had called in sick, besides it wasn’t tax session so her job as an accountant wasn’t busy at the moment. Her husband would be home any moment anyhow. He normally came home for lunch from his job working at a nearby auto body shop where he was a mechanic. Hell Penny could be home as well; she was taking pre-college courses at the nearby university in the afternoon so she could swing by for lunch as well.
She had meet Oscar only about a month after coming to the human world, far sooner then any of her friends meet their partners. She was in school for her degree, she had no idea how their community was able to fake official documents, but no one ever questioned them. She meet him at a party, had a one night stand which resulted in Penny and as coparents they began to fall actually in love with each other. So now they were married with three kids.
“I would have to tell Penny anyhow, so I guess it will be easier to tell everyone.” Stated Rose to herself, she tended to do that as she tried to process what to do next. Rose’s 18th birthday was only a month away and by their law even if they hadn’t been recalled Rose would have told her daughter of her true form as a werecat.
Was she sure Penny was a werecat, yes, a were cheetah no. When two werecats of different types mated and had a child the child would either be on of their parent types, with a small chance they took on the type of a grandparent but that was 1 in 20 or so. When a werecat had a child with a human, odds were about 50/50 they would be the type of werecat that their parent was, there was also a chance they become whatever their other parent would become when they transform or even some random type of werecat.
Since Penny was a state champion as a sprinter and loved to run since, she was a little girl, Rose had little doubt she was a were-cheetah like her mother but she could be wrong. Either way she loved her daughter and her whole family, this would be hard for them, Penny for sure she was a popular girl with many friends and they may have to leave that all behind since she had been recalled.
Now her other daughter and son, they could be anything but that was a bridge to cross later, they were in school and wouldn’t be home for a few hours.
She was about to get herself another cup of coffee when she heard the front door open.
