Jennifer remained puzzled at the phone. "You honestly believe in that stupid tale? Oh my god you're so immature." The voice on the line replied with venom. "You're still such a condescending bitch! Even as I am about to curse you. I expected you to start crying, begging for mercy." Jennifer laughed "For what, you haven't even done anything except make yourself look stupid, just wait till I tell Katie about this, no, wait till the whole school hears about this!"
Kyle eyed the clock on his phone, 15 seconds left, he'd need only stall for a few moments longer. "I can't stand you seniors, acting so high and mighty to us freshmen, what did I ever do to you? Block your way in the hallway? Make the cafeteria line just a tad bit longer? We don't even have the same classes! Every time I have to walk the hallways I walk in fear of being shoved, of being mocked and belittled! And who is the one always lording over me but you! I can't stand it anymore!" Kyle was almost in tears, not expecting himself to be so wrapped in emotion, before a small smile began to etch across his face...
Jennifer listened in indifference. Oh yea I remember Kyle now she thought, that nerd who was in my homeroom, he always sat in the corner of the class. Who cares if the freshmen were bullied, those kids were annoying as hell, yelling and running up and down the hallways acting like idiots. Why does Kyle think he's so special in the fir— Jennifer's train of thought suddenly stopped, as if a heavy blanket had smothered her brain and body alike. All she could do was listen.
Kyle's tone changed to a disturbingly mix of anger and ecstasy, as if he was giddy to dole out his self-styled justice. "That's your minute Jennifer, and you spent it being the same asshole as you always are, but that's going to change now."
"For your transformation, you will age back to being a freshmen again, and on top of it, you will be the runt of the ninth grade! Every time you lash out and bully someone, or talk down to them, or otherwise unjustly be rude to a person without a profuse apology immediately afterwards, the next day you'll wake up a grade younger, this will continue until you're out of school completely, if that happens, then you're a lost cause, and you'll restart at birth, memories lost, maybe this time you'll get raised right." Kyle pauses "But, if you are able to be kind and change your ways, once, well... if, you graduate high school the curse will end. Reality will change to match your age, so don't worry about that, gotta give you a fair chance after all."
Kyle takes in a gulp of air. "For your dare, you will forget who called you and who cursed you, and no matter what, even if its spelled out to you, even by me, you'll never connect that it was me who cursed you. You'll also forget that you have the curse now and that you can pass it on. You'll remember the curse and its details of it of course though...aaand thats about it. I hope you learn your lesson."
Jennifer hangs up apparently, the curses sway no longer causing her to freeze. She grips her head as the fresh memories of the call are whisked away. Her eyes flash wide open with realization of what just happened, and with dawning horror, she dashes out of her bedroom across the hallway to the bathroom. Frantic denial runs freely in her mind. It was just a prank call, she didn't even remember the callers voice, maybe it was just a dream, she did stay up late after all. Maybe it was—. Jennifer's thoughts stopped as soon as she made it to the bathroom mirror, stared intently at the mirror, a few seconds felt like an hour as she looked over herself for anything out of place, anything changing.
