Ladybug couldn't find any shelter. To make matters worse, she could feel a storm rolling in. She couldn't let Leks sleep on her back in the rain! He was just a weak, vulnerable human foal. If he were a Witch's Pony foal, he would be more durable, capable of withstanding the elements. Particularly with Ladybug standing over him, shielding him. Ladybug's eyes widened. Of course!
Ladybug carefully lowered herself to the ground and let Leks slide off her back. He slid onto the ground, still snoring. Ladybug took a deep breath. This would be an easy spell for her. It was second nature to a Horse Witch. She lowered her head over Leks and cast the spell. Leks glowed. When the glow faded, in his place was a sleeping colt. The colt was of an age at which he could either graze or nurse, as Ladybug wanted to provide him with multiple options.
She had been sorely tempted to make him into a filly; the last few foals she had birthed and given away were all fillies. But she held herself back from the urge. Leks would be upset enough come the morning. She didn't want him to have another reason to be frustrated. Distress was bad for growing foals. Ladybug cast a lactation spell upon herself so that Leks could nurse from her if he wished. As her udder swelled with milk, Ladybug felt eager anticipation. Her foals had been taken away before she could even nurse them, let alone spend any time mothering them. She would finally get her chance to have that experience.
Ladybug stood over Leks, sheltering him from the rain now beginning to fall from the heavens. It wasn't as comfortable as her stall at the horse farm, but she slept in more uncomfortable environments. Ladybug closed her eyes. As she slowly drifted off to sleep, her last thought was to wonder how Leks would respond to his new form in the morning.
