The bigger kid sits next to June on the sidewalk “I am sorry I hurt you, here” he hands her some of his money “my mom gave it to me for ice cream, she always ends up giving me too much” he holds out his dirty hands and in his hand he has a 10 dollar bill he’s willingly giving to June. June wipes her tears away “I don’t need your money…I need to turn back to normal” she sniffles. The boy seems confused by what she means “you mean like not crying?” He says being genuine “if you take the money you won’t be sad any more and we can be friends” he smiles. The kids words hit June with affection for some reason unknown to her she takes the money the boy gives her “thank you…I’m sorry I am not sure what to call you” she says still sounding like a mature woman but of course from a child’s perspective “Brandon” the boy smiles with a mouth full of ice cream “what about you?” He asks and June smiles “Brandon…I’m June, June Parker” she smiles and her name confuses the boy “it’s funny you have a name like the lady who lives in this house with her husband” Brandon laughs. June pushes past what he’s says trying not to be hurt or upset again “come on let’s go get some more ice cream” she says and she and Brandon go to the ice cream truck once again to get the frozen treat.
Meanwhile
“Ty come look at this” Jill says to her boyfriend Ty (JILL was once formally a grown 50 year old woman with no kids of her own nor a life lived enough until of course her time with Eileen who is now a even younger child at the age of 8 and Ty who recently turned 16 with Jill ready to start her life over with this young man). Ty rushes over after letting both the new transformed Melanie (formerly Mark Ty’s foster father who was abusive) and Danielle (formerly Dustin, Ty’s older more combative idiot of an older foster brother) outside to go back to living their new lives as a cheerleader at Ty and Jill’s highschool, and the exotic Latina dancer milf that lived across the street. “What’s going on?” Ty asks Jill who points to Tys little sister (former mother) June “she’s with a boy he looks to be 9 or 10” Jill adds. Ty notices the two kids share ice cream they had purchased and play talk on the sidewalk in front of the house. “I’m stopping this” Ty says about to change something about the scene before them but Jill puts her hand on his hand “you’ve done enough to her Ty…she’s already a child and lost her husband and son…let her have a small moment of peace or at least give her time before doing anything else” she asks Ty softly who sighs and agrees “you’re right…she did pay for what she did, I guess letting her have this boy as a friend wouldn’t be the worst thing” Ty calming completely at the touch of his girlfriend Jill who smiles at Ty a slight glare from her black framed glasses as the sunlight is reflected.
Meanwhile back to June and Brandon
“That’s a weird story June” Brandon laughs “you must be fun at playing pretend” he says as he continues to eat his lice cream “it’s not a game Brandon…it really did happen” June sighs “I was a lawyer, I had a husband and I had a son, my sweet boy” she starts to tear up but stops, did she have a son? What was his name again? June feels as though she’s forgetting something yet she can’t place what it is almost as if it never happened. “I think…” June begins but is cut off to Brandon yelling “let’s go to the playground!” He says running away and June laughs “wait for me Brandon!” She starts to run behind him like any kid would but June wasn’t a child? Was she?
After some time playing June and Brandon had become so close it was almost like they’ve never been apart. “BRANDON ITS TIME TO EAT!” His mother calls him inside “OK IM COMING” Brandon yells back and jumps to the ground “I have to go June but we can play more tomorrow right?” He asks her and June smiles some and nods her head “yes, we can play tomorrow” she starts to feel genuinely happy as this new life of hers starts to develop. Brandon was about to leave but quickly snatch’s a kiss on the cheek from June “bye” he runs home blushing as he does. June is taken back and holds her cheek where Brandon had kissed and blushes “he’s really a cute kid…I mean he’s really cute…” June says softly to herself blushing all the way home. When she gets inside she’s still blushing and Ty (her former son and now older brother) notices her blush “so what happened today?” Ty begins to tease knowing what transpired. June quickly shakes her head “nothing…I’m gonna take a shower” the 8 year old June says “I mean…bath…I mean…” June begins to become flustered as her adult self wants to shower but her kid mind dictates a bath. She runs upstairs and begins to slowly strip away her clothes leaving her completely naked she looks at the mirror again and turns away “did it imagine that life?” June pauses trying to remember something but all she can think about is how Brandon kissed her she starts to want to express these feelings like any adult would however she remembers she doesn’t have the same urges as a child as her body hadn’t matured or hit any sort of puberty to warrant those actions. June sits in her bath of bubbles and warm water with some toys to play with as she ponders. “I shouldn’t like this new life but…”
