Jeff could only get so worked up about what he'd been turned into. His thoughts kept turning back to the female mouse he'd just met. He wasn't sure he had fallen deeply in love with Anabelle just yet, but he did want to spend more time with her. But did he really want to stay in the fictional world of his sister's favorite movie? And was he willing to accept being a small, furry creature for another minute longer, whether he was in the movie or not?
That brought Jeff back to focusing on his current predicament. He was staring up at his little sister - thankfully, he wasn't as small as a real mouse, but it was still embarrassing to be reduced to what he guessed was about three feet tall, and have to look upward to make eye contact with a fourth-grader. He definitely couldn't stay here in this body. He would rather...
"If you're not gonna turn me back," Jeff said, with the sneering tone he only ever reserved for his sister at her most obnoxious, "can you at least put me back into the movie? Where I..." He stopped himself at the last second from saying "belong". He finally continued, "... fit in?"
"Why?", she replied smugly. "So you can go back to making goo-goo eyes at Annabelle?"
Jeff's face felt hot under his fur. "Hey!" He was glad to think his sister probably couldn't see that he was blushing underneath. But his embarrassment gave way to confusion. "Wait... how did you know about that? Could you see me while I was in there?"
"Uh, yeah," his sister scoffed, as though the answer was beyond obvious. "You're part of the movie now. I can actually remember seeing you in the theater now, even though I know you weren't really there originally. Oh, by the way, how do you feel about meeting a celebrity like Anabelle?"
Jeff didn't realize he had been. "Is she... famous?"
"She's the main character!", his sister shouted, her shrill voice ringing in his sensitive new ears. "Sometimes I feel like you're the only person who hasn't seen Outback Adventure yet. Like all my friends have a backpack or something with Anabelle on it now."
"Well, sorry I'm not a 9-year-old girl!", Jeff fired back. But the thought of other people watching him on the screen made him curious. "Hold on... do your friends know who I am, then?" He smirked a little bit as his imagination caught up to him. "Do they... fantasize about finding the Jeff to their Anabelle?"
"Gross! No! You're only in the movie for one tiny little scene, remember? You're a minor character - totally forgettable." She stepped over to Jeff's computer with the Chronivac installed, her hand hovering over the keyboard. "But I can change that." There was a mischievious glint in her eye. "I can change whatever I want."
