After his hearty breakfast, Jeff left to go to school. He didn't feel the need to do any more research for his History report and went straight to his locker. On his way he passed a few people he knew who waved at him but none of them really talked to him. That is, until he saw his crush, Melissa.
"Hey Jeff!" Melissa said as she approached him. "I've been trying to reach you since yesterday, but I didn't see you online." Melissa said in a tone that made it sound like Jeff had done something wrong.
"Oh yeah, sorry about that, my internet connection has been screwing up." Jeff said with an apologetic smile as Melissa's expression softened.
"Oh, well, do you have a minute? I was wondering if you would want to hang out today after school?" Melissa said, now sounding much more cheerful than when she approached.
Jeff was stunned. His crush wanted to hang out with him? What?!
"Uhhhh... umm... yes, that would be amazing!" Jeff said, blushing, causing Melissa to giggle.
"Ok, see you later then." She said before walking away, leaving Jeff to stand there and stare at her.
As she left, Jeff smiled as he had a funny feeling in the pit of his stomach, not unlike the one he felt when he ate his dad.
The parasite was the size of a apricot by lunch time. It sent hormones to Jeff's brain to slow down his aging. The hormone slowed the growth of new cells, keeping him in the state he was in for a longer period of time.
For Jeff the afternoon couldn't go by any quicker. When the final bell rang, he walked out to the front of the school to wait for Melissa.
