Jeffrey sat in a state of deep contemplation as he pondered his next move. Although he was fond of "Gothic Horror," his true passion was slasher horror movies and books. He wondered if he should change the sub-genre of the Chronovac settings to "slasher horror". Knowing that changing it wouldn't hurt just to see what happened, Jeff clicked on the drop-down menu and selected "Slasher Horror". Suddenly the screen went blank and a circular reticle appeared in the middle for a moment, indicating it was being refreshed to provide an update for the sub-genre he selected. Suddenly several options popped up on the screen, all of them were drop-down menu options like the sub-genre of horror he wanted.
The first option, which seemed like the most important one of all, was: Type of Adversary.
Jeff's eyes widened in surprise, enjoying that he was truly going to be able to customize his experience. Scrolling through the options, he came across the option: "Diabolical Werewolf" and settled on that option. It sounded the best out of everything else, especially because they had been done to death and werewolves had yet to get any real love beyond the well-known classics like "An American Werewolf In London" and "The Howling" were both released in 1981. He decided on that one, especially because he loved werewolves as monsters instead of what certain aspects of Hollywood had made them into.
Once that was selected, Jeff continued to scroll down the screen to focus on the other options:

Jeff was desperate for something completely new. He had been bored with his life for so long that he was willing to take risks to change it drastically. He wanted to change so that he would not remember his old life and could become someone else without guilt. He wanted a complete overhaul, but the one thing he didn't want to change was being gay. He absolutely loved men, the male body and form, and male genitalia. Female genitalia didn't do anything for him, and he figured that if he was going to carry anything over into this new life, that would be it.
That last option was a bit unexpected, he didn't understand why someone would openly want to be a killer, regardless if that meant you became the werewolf or not. "Why would anyone want to actively go hunt down another person?" Jeff pondered to himself, knowing that he could be the monster was exciting. There had been many times that Jeff had fantasized and thought about what it would be like to be a werewolf... especially when he watched all of the werewolf movies that existed. The transformations always looked like they were intense, and depending on the movie, it either appeared to be painful in some and pleasurable in others. As he looked at all of the settings, feeling happy with the way things were, he hovered the mouse around "Accept and Apply". He knew it was a big leap to change his life the way he was going to, regardless of the outcome and it did cause a little bit of trepidation, but ultimately he pressed the left button on the mouse down, clicked the button, and released. He was excited, regardless of the outcome, knowing he was either going to be in a world where at least a single werewolf existed or there could even be several OR he was going to be the werewolf... either way, life was about to get far more interesting.
Instantly the screen changed, displaying only a single line with a countdown that read: "Applying changes in: 10... 9... 8... 7... 6... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1..." then, for a moment the screen read: "settings applied! Enjoy!" Then, everything relating to the Chronovac was gone and Jeff sat in the same chair that he was before, finding himself in a stupor, wondering what was going on, and even felt like he blacked out for a second. He was confused, disoriented, and curious about what was going on. However, as his mind cleared and he was looking at his computer, a wry smile developed on his face. Jeff, for some reason that was unknown to him, felt much happier and he was ready to continue his day. Sitting there, turning the computer off, Jeff smiled, and felt as though the world was suddenly his playground to explore.
