Just as Jeff slips into dreamland, the door to his room slowly opens and his 10-year-old brother Tyrone pokes his head into the room, “Jeff? S-sorry to bother you,” he says, “I just wanted… wait, Jeff isn’t here? Bu-but… I thought I heard him a minute ago”.
Tyrone cautiously steps into the room, the 10-year-old could be the ten-year-old version of Jeff: athletic body, brown eyes and short black hair, the only difference is that Tyrone’s black hair has blond highlights, which look really cool.
When Tyrone walks into the room, the 10-year-old notice a large lizard is sitting in the middle of the room motionless, next to a pile of his brother’s clothing, “what the,” the boy asks in confusion, scratching his head, “what is a lizard doing in Jeff’s room, and more importantly: how did it even get in,” he asks himself. Tyrone looks around the room, “maybe Jeff brought it in? But I don’t see a container anywhere,” he says to himself, “and why would Jeff leave his laptop running? That’s not at all like him”. The young boy walks over to the laptop, “what a weird looking game,” he says, tilting his head, “looks like some kind of 3D-moddeling program. Hm… I do find such programs fascinating”. Tyrone looks over at the lizard, “the lizard seems to be sleeping, I can bring it outside later, first though: I’m curious to know what kind of program this is,” he says to himself, sitting down in front of Jeff’s laptop and opens the manual, starting to read.
As Tyrone reads through the manual, his eyes widen, “a reality alteration program, which is able to transform anyone and anything into anything imaginable,” he asks himself, the 10-year-old turns his head to look at the lizard, a smile appearing on his face, “if it really is true, it would be so cool to be a lizard for a while,” he says, “lizards are SO cool!”
Tyrone has always been fascinated by reptiles, alligators, lizards, snakes, the only books he reads are about reptiles, and due to reading all these books, the 10-year-old knows everything about reptiles: what their food source is, when they hibernate, when they mate, where they live in the wild, how to identify them, how to tell if they are venomous or not and every other information.
The 10-year-old turns back to the laptop, “I’d love to test it out, but I’d rather not mess with Jeff’s stuff,” he says, “hm… I might be able to copy it over to my phone and create an independent program. Yeah! I’ll do that, then I’ll think about what to test it on”.
Tyrone hurries into his room and soon returns with a cable and his phone, he quickly hooks his phone to Jeff’s laptop and starts the copy process. The boy is asked, if he’d like files, which are stored in the program, to be also copied over. Tyrone shrugs, “why not,” he asks himself, then giggles, “if it really works, I could have some fun with my boring and lazy big brother. Hehe… maybe I could transform him into something useful… for me! Maybe clothing, maybe a drone to film my parkour… hm… or maybe into my pet lizard… hehe”. After confirming the copying of the files, Tyrone is asked if he’d like the program to be independent or linked with the original, Tyrone, of course, not wanting to mess up Jeff’s program and not wanting Jeff to get mad at him, selects the independent option, soon the process is completed and with a smile, Tyrone disconnects his phone from his brother’s laptop.
Smiling to himself, Tyrone leans back in his chair, looking down at his phone, “now, what to test it out on,” he says.
