In the "Packages" tab Transdiem had setup a pregnancy package that either made someone fertile, simulated a pregnancy between two people, and could even use unborn people from other chronivacs. This last feature had some limitations such as the person had to be unborn for a significant amount of time. Jeff happened to be next in the queue and found himself born as "Jenny" her chronivac profile shifted a little to reflect her new identity.
Jamie around that time decided the voices were too much and she couldn't drown them out in booze and reckless hedonism, so she went to the chronivac and tried to bring Jeff back but his profile was gone... Well not gone but "out of range". Jamie of course could have called customer support or something reasonable, but she wasn't exactly in the most reasonable state of mind. Most of the people she had regressed to nothing were also starting to get "out of range". She had wanted to start with Jeff, give her a little courage to do more... but... they were going away... What did she do? Did she just start with the next one available? What about the others?!?!
