The girl in the photo had black, shoulder length hair. She wore a skirt with fishnet stalkings and a band t-shirt that Ben wasn't familiar with. He couldn't but notice she was a bit top heavy and while the skirt didn't outline it a lot, in some of her photos he could tell she had a nice ass. Her overall aesthetic seemed very goth. The portfolio said she was about 5'5 and a sophomore.
"That's Emilia Poppy, and it is her body you will be using to play the witch." Mr. Kingsley told him. "We are doing a very ambitious production this time. Into the Woods is a beautiful Broadway musical. In the first act the witch is a shriveled old woman, which her short stature will help with. However, she regains her youth at the end of the act and turns into a beautiful lady, which again, that body can pull off."
"Why not just cast her as the witch?" Ben asked.
"Unfortunately, she doesn't go to this school, and she can't sing. However, your performance at the audition was beautiful. You even did an excerpt from Lafayette's part in Hamilton's Guns and Ships, which is how I knew you could handle the witches part during the introduction. It's proven that singing ability carries over to your knew body, so it will be perfect."
Ben thought about it. "Singing ability carries over, but a person's voice is still their voice. Are ypu sure I can sing as her?"
Mr. Kingsley nodded. "Yes. Miss Poppy has lent her body to other productions and sang beautifully. Just not while she inhabits it."
"Is everyone in the cast swapping?" Ben asked.
"Yes, we have it scheduled to swap today after school, and everyone will use their bodies for the duration of the play. You'll need to schedule with Miss Poppy to trade your wardrobes when you swap by the way. It causes issues when you forget have to buy clothes you only needs for a few months."
"Months?" Ben asked.
Mr. Kingsley nodded. "Set building, costumes, rehearsals. This all takes time. To truly become the witch, you will need a lot of practice."
Ben hadn't considered being a girl for several months when he auditioned. He had hoped for Jack from Jack and the beanstalk. This was new territory, but Mr. Kingsley was considered one of the best directors in schools, and swapping actors bodies was becoming more common in movies.
"Alright." Ben commented. "I guess I'm the witch.
