Ivo Cortez is a 40-year-old half German and half Spanish man, who’s parents have migrated to the US around 35 years ago when he was still a child. He has an athletic body, short brown hair, green eyes and an olive skin tone, he is a friendly and helpful person, though Ivo has one major issue: when he had turned 16, his personality changed, for some reason, he started believing that he, and everyone on the planet, are living in some kind of fantasy world, that the “form” they were in isn’t their true form. Ivo believes that his true form is a humanoid lizard, he is so convinced by this, that he even developed a habit of eating insects, like grasshoppers, though he does eat normal human food, but rather rarely.
‘If there were a way to fix all the errors,’ Ivo had thought to himself, ‘everyone would be so happy and relieved’.
On a warm late summer’s afternoon, at around 5pm, Ivo is sitting in his living room, daydreaming. Ivo has no family, the thought of having a “human” female and a “human” son fills the man with disgust because, in his eyes: creating a family with a human is wrong. No one is aware of his mental state, not even his parents, the reason being is that he had kept this to himself, knowing that, if he’d tell anyone about what he believes is to be a “fake reality”, he’d be locked up in some facility, where he’d get the “help” he needed. This “help”, in his eyes, would be nothing than a way to try and “cure” him, and this he’d never allow to happen, they can continue to pull the wool over the eyes of everyone else, but not HIM.
The sound of the doorbell causes Ivo to snap out of his daydream, “I wonder who that could be,” he says to himself, “I am not awaiting anyone”.
When Ivo opens the door to his apartment, he finds himself face to face with what appears to be a delivery man, “are you mister Cortez,” the man asks, “I have a package for you”.
Ivo raises an eyebrow, “I haven’t ordered anything, but yes, I am Ivo Cortez”.
“Well, then this package is for you,” the man says, shoving the package into Ivo’s hands, “have a nice day,” and before Ivo is able to protest, the man already had walked to his van and drove away.
Ivo blinks in confusion, he then looks down at the medium sized package and with a shrug he turns and heads back inside.
Arriving in his kitchen, Ivo grabs a knife and opens the package, the first thing he sees is an envelope. Ivo opens the letter and begins to read, “the Chronivac,” he asks himself, “never heard of it”.
Shrugging, Ivo puts the letter down and grabs the manual, starting to read it, his eyes widen the more he reads, “if this is true,” a grin appearing on his face, “then I’ve finally found a way to correct all the errors and put everything right!”
Ivo learns that there are two options: either install the program onto his laptop or scan the QR-code to receive the App-version. The man decides to scan the QR-code and as soon as he did that, an App appears on his phone, “first, a little test,” he says to himself.
Looking around the kitchen, Ivo decides to test the App on a flower standing on the windowsill. Once he had scanned the plant, Ivo changes it into an apple, grinning to himself, Ivo grabs the red juicy fruit and heads into the living room, taking a bite out of the flower-turned-apple, “now, what to fix first?”
