A pickup truck moved through the compacted dirt, bumping a bit since the ground was uneven thanks to roots of nearby trees poking up from the ground. The truck would look very out of place since on either side of the truck where buildings which at least on the front facing part of the building looked like a medieval Germany building. In truth those buildings while simple where modern with the upper “floors” of the building being used for storage by the shops which ran out of the bottom floor. The shop owners who in truth made their living traveling from one Renaissance Festivals selling their items where doing the final preparations for the opening of the gates and the arrival of their customers.
The truck came to a stop outside of a larger building which looked like a simple gothic church.
“Lets get these up and back stage.” Announced the driver as he got out of the truck while the three other workers who had been riding in the bed of the truck got to work.
They unloaded the multiple crates which while large was actually very light.
They carried the crates into the “church”, it wasn’t a church at all but made up to look like one. The wooden pillars had fake stones cover them, a stain glass windows where made darker on purpose. The entire place gave off a weird unsettling smell and the whole building gave off a creepy vibe. All by design.
Using lighting hidden in the walls it looked like part of the walls was on fire, demonic symbols where on the wall and a massive statue of a classic image of the devil sat on a throne where the alter would be in an actual church.
“Looks pretty good.” Stated one of the workers as they went to work to hang two large banners on either side of the building.
The banners were matching in size and in style.
One showed a handsome male demon wearing something kin to a suit with a cane in one hand and a top hat on his head, massive red batlike wings graced his back. His face was sharp, scary yet handsome. Horns poked out of the top hat, behind him was an image of hell behind him engulfed in fire and smoke was visible.
The other one was a sexy female demon, a succubus maybe. Due to this area being open to the public she wasn’t nude but she was closed. Her pale blue skin was unsettling as one of her rested on her chin as she leaned forward to give off a sexy pose and a look down her long black dress. Her dress was in a 1920’s style which went well with the suit her “partner” painting was wearing. Purple horns graced her head as a forked tail was visible behind her. A similar image of hell was visible behind her, only while the male demon had a fire version of hell Her’s was a frozen hell. Bodies frozen in ice and the like.
“I think we are done.” Stated one of the workers as they began to take the crates back to the truck.
“These are going to be popular.” Started at the main worker as he looked at his watch. The gates would be opening in ten minutes. When he looked back up he could have sworn that the male demon’s position had changed, he seamed to be leaning on his cane a bit more. Also was the female one’s tail always in that position.
No matter he needed to get going.
“Let’s get backstage and get ready.” Ordered the main worker as they loaded up and left.
Unknown to him the paintings had actually moved, they had sensed a perfect candidate or candidates to be pulled into a new world and to leave humanity behind. Now they had to wait.
