With Monday being the last day of September, everyone began preparing for Animalia's biggest event, Spookyville 2024. Of course, since different colonies celebrated it in different ways, focusing mainly on where said colony was, there was no two similar ways of celebrating it, aside from lots and lots of candy.
For example, Halloween in New Zerzura was celebrated with the "return" of Osiris to the land of the living, since one of the Halloween staples (the mummy disturbed from eons of slumber, and the "mummy's curse") actually had origins in Egyptian Mythology.
Of course, there were other things that were getting prepared in advance for Spookyville.

On the Brown Farm, Abby and Samson were helping out getting the Harvest Games ready. For now, they were focusing on turning the (relatively) new cornfield into a corn maze, though a few of the farm hands were turning some of the harvested corn into Animalian whiskey, much to Abby's confusion. Fortunately, spending time with her new sister Ava was enough distraction, as she seemed to be hitting the "terrible 2s" kind of early, and she was indeed quite energetic, both as a foal and as a 2-year-old.

Horizon, however, was not so pleased with their newest event. A 40+ woman named Layla had gotten a cheetah double dose, and somehow ended up with mild breast hypertrophy which, thanks to her narrower, muscular frame, made them look bigger than they actually were. While both Horizon and Layla were surprised by this turn of events, Layla was over the moon, so to speak, of her new furry orbs. Already she had spread the news to her social media, and by the next day, she already had a list of "Facebook friends" looking for conversion, some clearly from overseas.
While Horizon, understandably, wouldn't be doing conversions for all her friends, they wouldn't be turning them all away either, also Layla was also developing RHS symptoms. So, while it might take a while for Layla's friends to arrive, Layla was dancing at the Meat Market in the meanwhile.

Speaking of the Meat Market, it was also going to be host to one of Animalia's newest pop stars, Hatsane Mako. She was one of those who had converted during Ao Guang Island's Retreat to Beat the Heat and had a near instant success in her career. Part of what drove her skyrocketing stardom was gold slingkini that she wore during her concerts and shows that not only showed off her generous, sharky, T&A, but also her massive muscles.
However, she was already on a tour in Japan by now and wouldn't be doing a show in Lyre/Animalia until Spookyville started.
