The next volunteer was a cheerleader named Rebecca. Her red hair was done up in twin tails on either side of her head as she wore white face paint and a dress that made her a scary yet sexy variation of Pennywise the Clown from It. With her, she brought up several red balloons she carried in one hand.
Rebecca skipped playfully up to the stage. "What are you going to do? Make me float?"
Josie thought about it but had another idea. "Well, maybe later. However, there is one trick magicians are known for that I haven't tried yet. Making things vanish. Mind lending me your balloons?"
Rebecca held out her hand. "Me and my balloons are at your service."
Josie took one and tied it to the front of the stage. The balloon waved slightly in the air. Josie tilted her head back and opened her mouth. Reaching in she used the ring to make something appear. She pulled out the handle of a whip, followed by the long cord of the weapon itself. There was a lot of cheering and wolf whistles.
She leaned forward, allowing the audience to see she was really pulling the whip out of her mouth. Once finished, she took the handle and gave the whip a quick crack. The sounded echoed throughout the party. She then spun the whip around and brought it down on the balloon, popping it.
"And there you have it, one balloon vanished." Josie turned to Rebecca. "How many do you have?"
"Seven more." She responded.
"In that case, I think we can make seven more things vanish. Are you ready to take a bit more active part of the show?"
"Sure." Rebecca announced.
Josie took five of the balloons. "The other two hold by the strings in different hands." After giving Rebecca her orders she took her balloons and handed them to Monique. Once done she saw that Rebecca had the balloons in either hand.
"Now, your arms out as far as possible." Rebecca quickly complied. Josie swung the whip around and gave a couple of practice strikes to the ground in front of her before going for the balloons. Eached popped, allowing the strings to fall down. With both pops, Rebecca closed her eyes and flinched.
Turning her attention to the audience Josie began speaking to the audience. "Well, I'm glad you enjoyed my show. I could continue but I know you don't want me to put Rebecca here in any more danger. What do you say, should we call it a night?"
"No!" The crowd shouted.
"You want to continue?" She asked.
"Yes!"
"Alright." Josie grabbed two more balloons and tied them to the end Rebecca's hair in either side of her head. The two strands were slowly pulled upwards. "Sorry if you look a little silly with your hair floating." Josie told her.
"We all float here." Rebecca said in a bad impression.
Josie turned to the audience. "A bit closer to Rebecca, and a bit more dangerous. Do you think that's enough?"
She was answered with cries of, "no!"
"Alright then." Josie grabbed another two balloons, this time placing them directly into Rebecca's hands instead of having her hold them by strings. Josie instructed her to hold them out away from her.
"She's now holding the balloons themselves. Makes it a bit dangerous if I want to pop them without hitting her. Is this enough danger for you?"
"No!"
Josie went for another balloon. This one she placed in between Rebecca's knees, causing her to stand a bit awkwardly.
"Alight, I will have to strike each hand, above her head and between her knees. This is incredibly dangerous, but we have another balloon if you want more. What do you say Brad, it's your birthday?"
"More!" Brad called, and the audience echoed his cry. Josie took the last balloon and brought the tied up end to Rebecca's lips.
"Bite down and tilt your head back." She told her. Rebecca obeyed.
Josie returned to the opposite side of the stage. Swinging the whip above her head, she brought it around and struck both balloons above Rebecca's head at the same time. Her pony tails flopped to her shoulders.
Josie then struck the balloon in Rebecca's left hand, followed by the right. She then teased the audience by making the whip crack, striking the air on either side of her volunteer. Finally she brought it down, popping the balloon between her knees.
Rebecca took the opportunity to straighten her legs to be more comfortable, but did not lower her arms.
"One left!" Called Josie. "Should I pop it?"
"Yes!" Came cries from the audience.
"I can't hear you! Should I pop it?" Josie called back.
"Pop it! Someone called out.
Josie swung her whip, but not at the balloon. Striking Rebecca, she gave the same loud pop as the balloons before her clothes fluttered to the ground empty, and the balloon she held between her teeth drifted upwards.
The crowd was stunned silent as they witnessed the cheerleader vanish completely before their eyes. Josie broke the silence herself. "Well, you said pop It, right?"
After a second, the crowd started to applaud, and even give her a standing ovation. "Thank you!" Josie bowed, and took the opportunity to swoop up Rebecca's cloths. She held them up and waved them a bit. "And thank you to our lovely volunteer!" Looking into the audience, she saw the captain of the cheer squad looking a bit concerned. "Perhaps we will see her again later tonight. Until then, enjoy the party! With that Josie got off the stage.
