"...lean into it," Tina says. "You clearly want this, otherwise you'd be fighting it more. If you want my honest opinion, I think you should embrace your babyish desires. See how it feels to be a baby."
"But-"
"And if you don't like it," Tina says, speaking over Leah, "we can always work on getting you back to normal. I can even pull you out of school for however long you need."
"But what about Rita?" Leah mumbles around her pacifier. Tina finishes changing her diaper.
"That's a good question. She's into alternative medicine spiritual woo-woo things. I could see her getting on board. But I could also see her not being willing to take care of a baby. That's not what she signed up for, after all."
Tina sets Leah, clad in only a diaper, on the floor.
"I'll go talk to her," Tina says. "Stay here."
Leah sits on the floor, suckling her pacifier. To her surprise, she's actually quite interested in what Tina suggested. At the very least, it would be nice to stop fighting things for a week and just relax. As Leah thinks about relaxing, there's a soft hiss. Her diaper warms and yellows. Leah panics for a second before reminding herself that she's leaning into the baby lifestyle for the week. She doesn't need to worry about wetting herself.
Finally, Tina comes back. Leah looks up at her stepmother expectantly.
"Rita is onboard with the plan!" Tina says. "And..."
