"Kyle, could you come down here."
"Yea, dad." Kyle walked down the stairs into the basement where his dad kept weird gadgets. Kyle was never allowed to explore the basement on his own because his dad kept it locked with multiple locks. Kyle didn't even know how many locks his dad used. So it was a rare treat when Kyle got to see what his dad did as a hobby.
Ray, Kyle's dad, kept nearly all of it a secret from everyone including Kyle. Most people, including Kyle, thought Ray was just tinkering and they had no idea that Ray had built anything that actually did anything.
Ray said, "I'm ready to test my device. Would you go stand on that green circle there?"
Kyle said, "Sure." not believing that anything would happen.
Ray said, "Oh and remove your clothes."
Kyle asked, "What?"
Ray said, "I don't want anything to interfere with the test. Remove everything."
Kyle said, "I don't want you to see me naked."
Ray said, "Fine, there's a screen you can set up so I don't have to see you."
Kyle set up the screen but did not remove his clothes.
Ray said, "Come on. I need to know you are naked. Throw your clothes over there where I can see them."
Kyle removed everything except his underwear and threw them where his dad could see them.
Ray said, "I mean everything or am I going to have to come back there to make sure you have nothing on."
Kyle removed his underwear and threw them away. "There are you happy?"
Ray asked, "No watches, rings, necklaces?"
Kyle removed his bracelet and the chain from his neck. He felt silly covering himself as he stood there stark naked behind a screen.
Ray said, "Alright, here we go."
Suddenly, Kyle was bathed in a green light.
