Leah's heard story after story from Tina about potty training the kids at her daycare. In this moment, she's reminded of a particular one. A child had been fully potty trained, but after an illness, slowly lost his potty training. They had to fully un train him, then start over. While trying to improve his training hadn't worked, when he lost his potty training entirely, it only took a couple weeks for him to not need protection.
Clearly, Leah isn't doing well trying to improve her control. She's only losing it more and more. Her best option might be to hit rock bottom. Then she can start over.
It's a tough decision to come to, but one that actually makes Leah relieved. She won't be stressed trying to make it and then upset when she inevitably does it. Instead, she'll just use her diaper whenever she feels the urge to go. And maybe when she doesn't feel the need to go, too? That way she's fully un potty trained.
Leah puts a fresh diaper on, then squats and pees. Not much comes out, but she didn't have to fight any resistance against using the diaper. Which is a good sign for getting rid of her potty training. Leah goes back to her room and crawls into bed. As she drifts off to sleep, Leah wonders what she's going to tell Rita, who presumably has been told she will only have occasional accidents.
