"Stay home alone," Leah says. Tina opens her mouth to argue. "I'll be fine!"
"You're using diapers right now, sweetie."
"I can change myself!" Leah says firmly. Tina raises an eyebrow.
"Okay, then show me," she replies. She hands Leah the supplies she needs and steps back. To her surprise, Leah is able to, if somewhat clumsily, take her diaper off, wipe herself down, and tape a fresh diaper on. "Huh. I guess you can change yourself."
"I've been left at home on my own plenty of times before. Needing a diaper is the only thing that's different this time, and I just showed you I can handle it," Leah says. Tina sighs. It would be a bit much to insist the teenager needs to stay with Rita just to get her diaper changed...
"Fine," Tina says. She's not sure she made the right decision, but she definitely made the one that will make Leah happy. Her stepdaughter immediately perks up. "But if you start having problems, either with the diapers or something else, I want you to call a babysitter. There's a list of approved ones on the fridge." Leah nods. She knows what list Tina is referring to. "I have to go meet up with your father at the airport, so I'll ask Rita to take you back to the house."
Before she knows it, Leah is saying goodbye to Tina and getting into Rita's car. Rita takes her for a drive-thru fast food dinner before dropping her off at home.
Leah walks into her own house and immediately lets out a fart, which is accompanied by some poop. Her bladder lets loose immediately after, filling her diaper with pee. She sighs, but decides to hold off on changing herself until after she has dinner. She eats in front of the TV, thrilled to have things work out in her favor. An enormous fart rips through her diaper, closely followed by a log beginning to crown. Leah continues to eat her dinner, slowly dirtying her diaper the entire time.
Well, other than the diapers, things have worked out in her favor.
