Jennifer noticed that her own body looked and felt way older than it should have had been. The stomach luckily hadn't grown and had that normal small dent in it when she woke up. But it looked bit smaller. Had she grown up? She exited the bathroom stall and took a good look at herself on the bathroom sink's mirror. The reflection showed her that she looked year or maybe one-and-a-half-year older than this morning but the changes weren't that noticeable. She hadn't grown any visible height but she was sure that she looked more like a short 7th grader than a tall 5th grader. The long sleeve shirt and the long skirt still fit her perfectly or had they been always that comfy. Jennfier wasn't sure as she looked at her clothes. Maybe the small bra felt a bit tighter than second ago. But... Then again these clothes were meant to fool others to think their family was normal as any other family living in same neighborhood. People didn't like it when she and her mother prefered more natural approach to their lifestyle choices or at least that's what she remembers her mother telling her... The more she thought about it the more she started to get more headaches, see the world as if she was underwater and started to feel more pins and needles all over her body. Whatever the changes were she couldn't spot them even in front of the mirror.
Jennifer cleaned herself and walked outside the bathroom to notice that her friend Holly had shrunk a little bit. Or maybe she has always been that small. Then again with all those changes it was possible that she had gained some height. Maybe... Holly asked if she wanted to tell teachers about what had just happen or keep it as a secret. Jennifer said to think about it as she felt fine and worrying others made her feel too guilty as she apologized causing too much worry to her friend just now. Jennifer told Holly how much it meant for her that she had a friend like her who cared about her while trying to force a friendly smile. Knowing that what she just said was a lie. Tomorrow Holly wouldn't even remember her so why bother. During their walk to the classroom Jennifer gained few more memories which made her height grow again. She was now half-a-head taller than her friend Holly making her now just a thumb and a index finger taller than Holly was. Jennifer made a nervous laugh as she physically looked like two years older than her friend going to the same class.
Inside the room the seat felt uncomfortable and compared to other students she was taller than they were. She felt awkward thinking that why would a 7th grader like her be with bunch of 5th graders. No-one seemed to care what was happening with Jennifer as even the teacher only saw her as a 11-year-old kid who just happened to be taller than others. After the class Jennifer said her goodbyes to Holly and jumped on to the bus that was going back to her home street. She had almost forgotten her previous worries as she had someone to talk with today. Which reminded her about Marcus. She couldn't see him anywhere in the bus but then she remembered that he had his football training which made Jennifer's mind and body tingle again. Jennifer was getting used to these brain freeze like headaches that popped whenever she recalled something from her past. No, from her younger self's past. On her ride to the home she begun to daydream to pass the time.
