After a while Sylvia let the three kids out of the small clothing closet. Sylvia, still in her birthday suit, reeked like fresh salmon and caviar. Jennifer was quite sure that her mother was now 18-years-old as she looked very inexperienced to be a mother. Let alone for three. The older girl acted like a normal teen but didn't begun to argue with Sylvia. It seemed they've woken up earlier than they should have had.
In the light Jennifer was able to see much better and noticed that the older girl looked like grandma Mary but much much younger. Same mannerisms and way of speech very spot on. She wore a similar looked shirt and skirt combination as her grandma Mary did but she looked more lady-like. The younger hugging girl behind her was wearing a cheap looking t-shirt, skirt and ponytails. She looked more shy than scared as they walked to the living room together.
"How's mommy's favorite children doing...?" Sylvia smiled as she lowered down and gave a hug to both of them. She seemed to give a stink eye to the older girl who slammed the cardboard cup on the table as a response.
"Come on. Why can't you treat your sis Lucy like you treat Jenni and Cass!?" The older girl begun to shout.
"Shut up Lucy!" Sylvia shouted back. "Remember when mom said that you need to help me? You are are my sister and you should take care of Cassandra and Jennifer while I'm busy making the dough."
"Just because you are four years older than me doesn't make you an adult. Remember who's the one doing all the cleanning and laundry. I'm pretty sure the moment I graduate this whole place would fall apart because of your..." Lucy steamed at Sylvia. Sylvia just ignored her yapping as it seemed to be pretty normal. "I'm also the one doing all the important stuff like taxes and bills when you just... never mind..."
Lucy stood there, sighed and took fridge cooled tapwater to her small cup. It looked like Lucy had taken the mortherly role while Jennifer's mother act like a child even if she was older than her sister. Jennifer was amazed how mature Lucy were.
"Okay. Here's the thing. The least you can do today is to take Jennifer with you to the school. I take care of Cassandra and homeschool her while you keep close eye on Jenni" Sylvia continued as she took Cassandra's hand and walked her to a deflated bean bag to make her sit on it.
"Ugh! Fiiiine!" Lucy hissed and shouted to Jennifer to dress in the school clothes.
Jennifer stumbled and asked where they were as she didn't know and like a lightning bolt Lucy came and handed the small backpack which was full of fresh and clean looking clothes. After a minute Lucy took Jennifer's hand and both of them sprinted to the school bus. Jennifer was bit worried what would happen after the day was done and all of them would get older. Would Lucy leave the house leaving Jennfier with her sister Cassandra under her mother's wing or could she convince her to stay or take them with her once Lucy's old enough to rent a place of her own.
