Gloria wasn't sure what to pick, but sorted the names on the tablet in front of her into two columns.
On the stage an animation showed votes filling up two boxes. "Alright, closing off voting in 3... 2... 1..." A ringing bell heralded the end of audience voting. "Let's see what you picked!" said Lesily. The results flashed on screen.
FAMILY 1: Rose, Kevin
FAMILY 2: Dave, Terri, Jessica
"Excellent!" said Lesily, clapping her hands together excitedly. "Let's see what bright new future you decided for our two new families!"
She carefully nudged Rose and Kevin to one side of the stage and Dave, Terri, and Jessica to the other.
"That was just step one, folks. We know who's with who... but who's going to become what? Let's take a look at the roles you suggested! Starting with... Rose and Kevin!"
Lesily made a theatrical gesture to the screen as a roulette wheel animation spun.
