Nyx was grateful to Kari for letting her borrow a few of her clothes. Unlike Andromeda, Nyx packed very light when she had traveled to the Harris home only bringing so much stuff with her. After taking a nice warm shower following dinner and saying goodbye to aunt Hanako, Nyx slipped into one of Kari's spare pajamas that were close to her size, and were more modest than Haley's pajamas with cute animals on them. As Nyx was making her way over to Kari's bedroom, she saw Aaron's bedroom door and considered going inside, but stopped herself and continued on to Kari's bedroom but stopped again when she heard soft crying from the roof just after his, which she saw to be Mason's room. She could see Mason was sitting on his bed dressed to sleep but he was looking at a framed picture and was softly crying with Fenrir laying on top of the bed with his head over Mason's legs for emotional support.
Nyx almost didn't want to go in and talk to him, this was always something that Andromeda was better at, not her. Still, she felt like herself, Mason was missing his brother most of all. Nyx knocked on the bedroom door as Mason looked up and wiped his eyes.
"So...uh...hi. Do you mind if I come in for a moment?" Nyx asked as Mason looked to think about it for a moment before nodding.
Nyx made her way inside as Fenrir got off the bed onto the floor and went to the dog bed Mason had in his room.
"What are you looking at?" Nyx asked as Mason handed her the framed photo. Nyx looked at the framed picture and couldn't help but chuckle at the image of her young boyfriend holding young Mason in the photo.
"Aaron's fifteen in that, and I'm ten years old. We were at the zoo and I'm excitedly pointing to a fox in the background there. I think I even jokingly asked my family if it was one of our relatives." Mason explained as Nyx chuckled a little bit.
Mason was a little quiet for a moment before he looked over at Nyx.
"Nyx, what did Aaron say to you before he left?" Mason asked.
Nyx thought for a moment, but didn't want to sully Mason's image of his older brother to him. Nor did she really wish to repeat the words aloud.
"I'd....rather not tell you, but they were....hurtful words." Nyx said as Mason now looked a little sad. But then another idea came to her instead.
"But, why don't I instead tell you about what happened the first time I met your brother? It was also when we had our first kiss." Nyx suggested.
"Really? I didn't think Aaron was the romantic type." Mason questioned.
"He's not. But he was dressed pretty handsomely for the night. So it was just after my sister introduced me to your brother...." Nyx explained as she now recounted the event of her and Aaron dancing and fighting off some vampires who were trying to attack Aaron. Nyx also described how Aaron saved her from falling with an ice slide and then fought off the last few vampires while also dancing together.
Mason was really impressed with hearing about his brother's exploits while Nyx reminisced about one of the happiest moments in her life.
"Your brother sounds like quite the fighter Mason, I should like to meet him when he returns." Fenrir commented.
"Yeah, my big brother is really amazing, I think you're going to really like him when he gets back." Mason said to Fenrir as Nyx got up from Mason's bed.
"Well, I should really be getting to Kari's bedroom now. Good night Mason." Nyx said as she went to the doorway.
"Nyx, wait." Mason said as she suddenly got out of his bed and rushed over to Nyx's side and gave her a hug.
"Thanks for sharing that with me." Mason said hugging Nyx.
"You're welcome Mason." Nyx thanked him back as Mason went back to his bed and patted the bed for Fenrir to get back up onto the bed, which he did as Nyx then gently shut the door and headed for Kari's bedroom.
