After feeling the urge Alex couldnt stop himself. He took a big bite of the heart feeling the warm blood ooze down his throat. It gave him a good feeling. It was like the first time he won a fight, or the first time he kissed a girl or, or something altogether more then that. It was strange, he thought idily chewing the heart, I am not entirely conviced Im drugged anymore.
After a few more minutes of chewing on the heart he finished it and left the guard lying in his crimson pool. "Heh. And to think had you been a decent human being you might be alive even now" As he said that he left the cell, finding himself in a long narrow hallway with cell door lining the walls and torches spread sparcely enough that the edges of their light played along the floor like grasping tentacles of light trying to encircle one another in their own light, but the darkness seemed to be winning. As Alex walked down the hallway he could feel the eyes of the inmates upon him. None dare speak a word having been completely broken by the guards they were unsure of who this man was, but they dared not aggravate him. The silence laid to rest his last vestiges of calm and made him shakily walk the whole way down the hallway to the long flight of stairs at the end.
If there had been light enough down there Alex would have noticed that the horns on his head had grown out farther and that evil little gauntlet on his arm seemed more and more like tough hide then steel.
"I hate stairs" was all alex could say as he began his ascent from darkness...
