Ethan decided a quick swim will not hurt, and he striped off his clothes and put them in near a few rocks to find them better that way. He then took a breath and sprint towards the sea and the moment he set foot in the water, he felt that wave of energy once again. It was almost like the beach itself had magic fused with it thanks to the merbaby.
Ethan then took two more steps before closing his eyes and dive head first into the sea and the changes began as his legs fused as bone snapping reforming to be more flexible. His toes began to grow outwards and downwards with a thin membrane between each toe forming them into fins with the addition of a third fin that came along in the middle of the two fins. His blue and green scales came along with a few black scales on his tail while his hair changed to dark golden and his chest and arms gained more muscle making look like an Olympic swimmer. While a few scars, he had on his body disappeared and his eyes changed color from brown to bright yellow and adjusted to seeing underwater as he opened them.
Ethan moved his tail up and down, still awkwardly, not used to having one limb to swim. He sank further below to the sandy bottom and breathed in the water as he relaxed. He was able to see all the marine life and some nearby reefs thanks to his night vision. Then looked down at his body and slowly moved his tail up and down until he got the hang of it. After a while, he could move through the water like a torpedo and made a few jumps to see how far he would go. With enough speed, he rose at least a few feet in the air before diving again and swimming further in the ocean.
Oh god this feels so good and so right all together" Ethan said before reminding himself that he needs to go back to his family and bring them here to swim. This is the perfect spot for them to swim together freely. He then looked up at the moon shining through the water, guiding him towards the surface of the water and looked around, and realized how far way Ethan swam from the beach.
Better head back now he said as he heard a loud splash near him. Ethan turned around ready to see what it was, but he didn't see anything and dove to see what it was and didn't see anything.
He started swimming towards the beach now. As he was moving closer and closer, the more he felt that something was watching him. Then arrived at the beach and started crawling out of the water as fast as he could while still being unfamiliar with how to move with his tail on land. Thankfully, those upper muscles worked wonders as well as watching National Geographic on TV about how seals move around on land.
He turned around and lay on his back as his tail was still flapping gently on the dry sand. Now the stars and the moon were keeping him company as he relaxed after the first official merfolk swim.
He then heard another loud splash as he jolted up and looked around the sea and still saw nothing.
As he sat there and waited for a few minutes he was about to call out if someone was there, but a small pain at the top of his tail stopped him as it began to split in half and the reverse transformation began to have his normal human self again.
He slowly rose up to his feet and felt his legs have no hair on them at all but also his arms.
Huh, another thing to mention on family breakfast "Ethan said as he looked one more time at the waves and nobody around apart from him. Not that he could actually see as good as he could as merman, but the moon helped him a lot. Including finding his clothes, wallet, keys, and phone near the rock.
