“…….get Mike some clothes for church tomorrow.” This caught Jim by surprise, he didn’t figure that Stacey wanted to go to church with how she had Mike to take care of now. “Ok, let’s go.” Replied Jim.
They made their way around the mall, a lot of women were smiling and cooing at Mike as he passed by in the stroller. He was a little annoyed at all the attention he was receiving from strangers, but he dealt with it the best he could and just let them coo at him. He also thought about the fact that he now resembled Jim and Stacey’s son, that struck him as awkward considering he was his own man not that long ago. He didn’t know what to make of the situation given to him, but he saw the good things that could come out of this.
He thought about the fact that he could be raised again by Stacey and Jim, considering he looked like their son. The thought did intrigue him of having them be his parents and he smiled faintly around the big shield of his pacifier. He happily sucked away as he thought about how spoiled he was gonna be having two sets of grandparents again. Perhaps being a baby again wouldn’t be so bad after all.
His thoughts were interrupted when he arrived at the Baby Gap. He wondered what was going on as they took him inside the store. They stopped the stroller and Jim came around to lift him out of the stroller and next to his shoulder. “Hey pal, Stacey here wants you lookin good tomorrow for church, so we’re gonna get you some clothes,” stated Jim. Mike was surprised at the idea of getting clothes for his baby self, he didn’t know what to think.
“Mike, you’re coming to church tomorrow with us and we want you looking your best. In case you haven’t noticed, you look more like Jim and I now and people will think you’re our child. We want them to have a good impression of you regardless of the situation we are in.” Stacey implored. Mike heaved a sigh around his pacifier and mumbled “Otay” in his best baby impression that he could muster. It was hard to keep up this impression that he was a baby, he had to actually try to be one now.
They found a few outfits that matched him well and Jim took him back to the dressing room for him to try them on. Once they got to the dressing room door, they walked in and Jim closed the door behind him. He started undressing Mike, who got defensive. “Whad’re you doowin?!” He screeched around his pacifier. Jim shushed him and reassured him, “buddy, you are two years old, you’re gonna need some help with getting your clothes off now. Besides, I gotta check your diaper anyway.” Mike blushed a bit as Jim checked all around the insides of his diaper. “All dry and good to go!” Jim affirmed.
Jim started dressing up Mike in his individual outfits and showing him how he looked in the mirror. “See sport, look how sharp you look,” said Jim as he pointed at Mike’s reflection in the mirror. Mike did admit that he looked rather cute in his nice outfits as a two year old. He was gonna have some toddler girls lookin at him tomorrow. He smiled around his pacifier as he stared at himself. “Here, let’s go show Stacey,” Jim directed. He took Mike out to the dressing room hallway for Stacey to see him. Stacey awed and smiled at Mike in his nice outfit, which embarrassed him a little bit. “You’re gonna be all nice for church tomorrow and everyone is gonna eat you up!” Stacey encouraged Mike, who was blushing big as he sucked his pacifier embarrassingly.
Once they got the outfits, they checked out and put Mike back in his stroller. Stacey and the checkout lady were talking about how handsome Mike is gonna be when he gets older, leaving Jim to think that Stacey was really starting to embrace being Mike’s mother. I guess Jim could start being Mike’s dad now, but that is a conversation they will have later.
