“I wanna be in my own woom.” Mikey said around his pacifier. He was gonna start developing a lisp if he kept talking around this soother, but he loved it a lot.
“Alright then sport, let’s make it happen!” Jim replied with determination. “In the meantime, you can come sleep with Stacey and I.” He picked up Mike, who was wearing just his diaper and had his pacifier. Jim carried Mike back to the master bedroom and laid him on the bed between Stacey and himself.
Once everyone was all tucked in, Jim told Stacey the plan for Mike, “he wants his own room Stace.”
Mike snuggled up to Jim, who responded by putting his arm around the little man. Stacey was in awe and smiling at both of them, she was warming up more to the idea of this picture of her family.
“Alright, so I guess Mike’s gonna sleep in here with us until we get his crib?” Stacey asked. Jim and Mike both nodded, making both of them even more adorable together. “Alright then, guess you’re bunking with us for the meantime Mike.”
Mike smiled around his pacifier and sucked it excitedly, knowing that he was gonna have some time with both of them. He was caught off guard by the next question.
“Say Mike, Stacey and I were talking,” said Jim as he was sitting up with Mike in the bed, “how would you feel about being raised by both of us again?”
Mike thought about it and took his pacifier out of his mouth to respond, “Yeah I want you both to be my parents.”
Jim and Stacey both looked at each other and smiled. “Well that’s awesome buddy, we look forward to raising you again. You looking like us makes us excited to be your parents.” Mike smiled and blushed a little bit, reminding Jim of Stacey as she gets bashful too.
“Alright buddy, how about a movie?” Stacey asked.
Mike nodded in response excitedly, “Yeah!”
Both Jim and Stacey chuckled at his cheerful response. “Alright, let’s pick out a Disney movie together,” Stacey replied.
“One more thing,” Jim mentioned, “There is one rule to watching a movie with Dad here.” Mike was confused, “What?”
“You gotta put this in your mouth.” Jim said as he pointed at Mike’s pacifier. Mike nodded and put his pacifier back in his mouth and started sucking.
“There we go champ.” Jim smiled and kissed Mike firmly on the cheek. Mike giggled at that, loving the feeling of Jim’s beard on his smooth, baby cheek. It made him feel loved and aware that daddy was here to protect and take care of him.
Stacey was giggling at the adorableness that was occurring between Jim and Mike, Jim was right, he will be an excellent Dad to Mike, now it was Stacey’s turn to prove her ability to be a great mother to Mike.
