Jim drove home frantically while Stacey held Mikey in her arms. The boy continued to shrink as they drove, getting younger and younger.
By the time they walked in the front door, it was obvious what was going to happen. A few steps inside, Stacey handed Mikey to Jim. She let out a groan and pulled her pants down. Jim didn't see what happened next. He blinked, and Mikey wasn't in his arms. And Stacey was heavily pregnant.
As Jim watched, Stacey's stomach shrunk, until it finally stopped when she had the smallest of bumps. Only someone who knew she was pregnant would recognize it as a baby bump.
"You're pregnant," Jim said. Stacey nodded, panting. "I guess...we should get planning for Mikey to return in a few months."
"Yes," Stacey said in agreement. She rubbed her belly. "I just hope he remembers us."
"I'm sure he will." Jim kissed Stacey. Then he got down on one knee. "And now is as good a time as any to ask you..."

Stacey screamed in the hospital bed. Months later, she and Jim were married and eager for Mikey to return. Though with the pain currently coursing through her, she felt a bit more eager for it to be over with than Jim. At least the months they'd had since everything happened gave them plenty of time to plan for a baby.
"All right, push!" instructed the doctor. Stacey screamed again, but pushed. Both her and Jim, standing by her side holding her hand, felt a surge of excitement when the doctor said Stacey was crowning.
Soon, they would have Mikey back. All they could do was hope he had his adult memories in some form.
