"I don't think so...it's a bag," Jenny said. "But what am I going to do...?"
"Why don't you just stay here?" Jeff said. "I mean...at least for tonight. You can sleep in the living room."
Roxy growled softly. That was the exact opposite of her plan. Why wasn't Jenny in trouble?
"You know how my mom feels about that..." Jenny said.
"Well, why don't I call her and tell her I found you without your things?" Jeff suggested, picking up his phone and dialing. He put it on speaker. "I found Jenny outside without her things..."
"Thank god...." Jenny's mom said through the phone. "I've been worried sick since she went off. I'll come over and fetch her in a little while."
"I can watch her for a while, if you want," Jeff offered.
"That's very sweet of you...I'm just glad she's safe."
After the call finished, Jenny looked at Jeff. "Don't you think that's a bit odd?"
"Odd how?" Jeff asked.
"She doesn't really like you that much usually."
"She doesn't?" Jeff said. "Well...if that's what you changed....I can't complain about it, can I?" He gave her a quick peck on the lips.
