Twins Tylda and Tola, a rare pair of elven twins, climb a tree together. They had been born with a rare gift of telepathic linking, or twin telepathy. They shared thoughts and feelings on an incredibly deep level, making it as if they are sometimes one person in two bodies. Over the first fifteen years of life, they had learned to shut off the connection. While they loved each other deeply, they wanted their own thoughts and minds from time to time.
Each twin had pursued a vocation that played to their strengths. Tylda could step silently on almost any surface, her feet making no sound unless she chose to. She had pursued the path of the Forest Rogue, an elvish magical rogue which combined woodland magic with stealth and weapon training.
Tola, on the other hand, was fast and agile, pursuing the path of the Tree Monk. Monks were fast and able to dodge attacks and spells, while the Tree Monk in particular gained some additional ability to teleport between trees, and manipulate nature.
What many didn't realize was that while the twin's thoughts were merged, the woodland magic of their two classes combined, creating a Merged Druid. All druids could transform into animals, but the Merge Druid could create chimera-like combinations of two or more animals when they transformed. The two could also use the abilities of the Merge Druid to merge into each other, but they avoided this as they liked their individuality.
Tomorrow, Tylda and Tolna would celebrate their sixteenth birthday, and this was the year they would leave home to find adventure outside the forest. All elves were required to leave the forest after their sixteenth birthday, and bring back something that would add to the community or forest. Neither knew what the future held, but they knew they would face it together.
