Anna was amused to see the mouse trying to nod its head. A gesture, and the mouse began to grow. Its white fur receded into its body, as did its whiskers into the
face, while the ears and muzzle moved into more human form. Finally, Dr. Mettler was crouched naked on her haunches on top of her desk. Her hands were limp
in front of her, and her nose was twitching as if she still had whiskers. She was trembling, though the office was fairly warm.
She felt something tiny on her back, just above the cleave of her buttocks. She touched the area with her hands, and discovered she still had a tail. It was no bigger
than a mouse's tail normally is, but it was there.
"Insurance," said Anna. "If you're inclined to lie again, the tail will grow. If you lie so much that it becomes a human-sized tail, then you will start to turn back into a
mouse yourself with every lie. Do we understand each other?"
