[Mark's viewpoint]
As Ty walked into the kitchen, Mark contemplated how this was the most unusual experience he'd ever had. He looked sadly at his wife and son, hoping that being frozen would get the point across to them that they needed to calm down and listen to Ty. It was hard for Mark to reconcile that with his own years of being undisputed king of his castle. (Well, maybe not entirely undisputed, he admitted to himself. June could be a real bitch at times.)
There was no question that Ty had the upper hand, and Ty's statement that there would be some changes now seemed like the understatement of the century. Ty had said that he didn't want to hurt them, implying that he could. Mark had no idea just what Ty was capable of, but if freezing them was any indication...
Mark thought about the future. Was Ty going to take over as the alpha male of the family? How could Mark even challenge him, when Ty could freeze him at any moment? If Ty had actually regressed Dustin, he could presumably do the same, or worse, to Mark. Hell, why was Ty even bothering to try to discuss this, when he obviously could just do anything he wanted? Mark was on the edge of panic.
"I've got to pull myself together!" he thought. Ty said he didn't want to hurt them, and while he and Ty had never gotten along particularly well, he knew that Ty was usually truthful. As awful as it was to be frozen, he had to admit that there was no other way Ty could have made him calm down and talk. Maybe that really was all Ty wanted. He said "some changes," but maybe Ty wasn't trying to take over, like a tin-pot dictator. Mark reluctantly admitted that he himself had been just that, but just because he'd loaded it over the family, didn't necessarily mean that was what Ty wanted to do.
Still, he'd emerged from being frozen several times, none the worse for wear if he ignored the deflation of his ego. Although Ty admitted that he had regressed Dustin physically, difficult though that was to believe, he'd also apologized and said he would change things back.
Mark realized that regardless of any other outcome, he, no, all of them, were going to have to treat Ty with respect. It ashamed him that he hadn't ever done so until Ty forced the issue. But he also felt that he would be in perpetual fear of being frozen, or worse, if Ty got angry with him. They would be tiptoeing on eggshells for the foreseeable future. That would be hard to take.
Ty returned from the kitchen with two glasses of ice water, handed one to Mark, set the other on the coffee table. "I'll be right back," he said, and brought in two more, also setting them on the table. Ty sat back in the recliner, and took a few sips of water.
