As Ty entered the kitchen, he thought about how the conversation seemed to be getting away from him. For several hours before his foster family returned, he'd been agonizing over possible situations that could arise. This wasn't the worst-case scenario, by any means, but he was worried that if he couldn't get June and Dustin to calm down, he might have to do the memory wipe. It would be the easiest solution, and the least unpleasant for him, but he'd promised Lisa he would try it this way. It did seem like he had Mark willing ro reason, despite his expectation that Mark would be the most recalcitrant. He didn't like freezing them; while it didn't seem as wrong as directly tampering with their minds, he wasn't sure he could honestly say that it wasn't harming them. But it was still the least harmful thing he could think of.
He got out four glasses, and filled them with ice and water from the refrigerator. He carried two of them back into the living room.
