"So, Evan brings this thing to class, and Mr. Wilson is, like, super skeptical, right? But then, somehow, the machine starts working, and... and Mr. Wilson gets disintegrated."
The group gasped in unison.
"No way!" Bridget exclaimed. "That's insane!"
Emily nodded. "I know, right? And the craziest part is that Evan was never heard from again. Some people say he got sucked into the time machine, while others claim he was taken away by some secret government agency."
Sarah frowned. "That's so weird. I've never heard that story before."
Emily shrugged. "I know, it's like, a urban legend or something. But I'm telling you, it's true. My older sister was in Mr. Wilson's class, and she swears it happened."
The group fell silent, digesting the story.
Finally, Emily spoke up again. "You know, it's stories like that which make me want to build my own time device."
Bridget raised an eyebrow. "You're crazy, Emily. You can't be serious."
Emily grinned mischievously. "Why not? If Evan Parker could do it, why can't I?"
The group exchanged nervous glances, unsure if Emily was joking or not. But as they looked into her determined eyes, they realized that she was dead serious.
