As Eric walked down the hallway where his locker was and opened it carefully not to drop the box with the costumes. After he put it inside he opened it and took a look inside the costumes and decided that the best choice was the Little mermaid costume out of all. Since he was little, he always wondered about the deep oceans and merfolk should exist somewhere out there. Only 5% of the earth's oceans was discovered and mapped and that was enough hope for a shy and curious boy like the 17-year-old Eric Stevenson. All the summer he spent at the beach and the marine life that lived beneath the waves made him want to be a marine biologist when he grew up.
So he decided to wear it quickly in the showers. He locked his locker and ran at full speed in shower where he checked and saw the coast was clear and that nobody was around. So in he just trowed it away since it wasn't necessary with the outfit since mermaids didn't wear clothes. Now he needed to see what he looked like and reach for his phone in his clothes and just as he was about to grab it the ground felt like it was giving away and found himself falling for a few seconds before hitting the water and struggling to both breathe and look for the surface.
He blinked a few times and found that he could see just fine in the water, and it didn't sting his eyes.
