Meeting Henry And Visiting A Science Museum

added by LittleBoy 2 months ago O

“I’d like to go outside and see more of this… world,” Cody says.

Jeff smiles, “I know just the place,” he says, “I think you’ll enjoy it”.

Cody tilts his head, “what kind of place?”

Jeff simply grins, getting to his feet, “you’ll see when we get there,” he says.

Cody, feeling curious, follows Jeff out of his room, “hey, Jeff,” a voice says, when they turn to look, Cody sees a young boy, maybe not older than eight, walking out of another room, “you guys going out?”

Jeff looks at the little boy, “hey, Henry,” he says, “yeah, me and Cody are heading out. I want to show him that new museum that opened a month ago”.

Henry looks up at Cody, smiling, “you’ll enjoy it, Cody,” he says, “I must say, big bro did a fantastic job, you look just like a real boy! I wish I’d have such talent, building robots!”

Cody looks at Jeff who just winks, “well… I guess he did,” he says, then turns to look at Henry, “seems like you enjoy mechanical stuff yourself,” he says.

Henry nods, “I do, I love taking mechanical stuff apart, like old computers, radios and such, to see how they are designed and put together. I even try to fix them, sometimes I manage, but other times they are to damaged”.

Cody actually smiles, “maybe… maybe we could fix something together?”

Henry’s eyes widen, “really? You’d like to do that with me?”

Cody nods, “sure,” he says, “I know a lot about mechanical stuff… after all… I am mechanical myself,” he chuckles.

Jeff smiles watching his brother and Cody talk, happy that they seem to get along, the teen suddenly gets an idea, “hey, Henry,” he says.

“What’s up, Jeff,” Henry asks, looking up at his brother.

“Remember that robot dog puppy, the one that looks like a German Shepherd?”

“Oh, you mean the one I so desperately want but unable to get because it costs like 500$ and our parents refuse to buy it for me?”

Jeff nods, smiling wide, “yes”.

“What about it,” Henry asks, “don’t tell me you spent all your savings to get it for me?”

Jeff chuckles, “no, but…,” he turns to Cody, grinning, “there is a way you can get it without anyone having to pay a single dime, right, Cody?”

Henry looks up at Cody, “what is Jeff brabbling about?”

Cody looks at Jeff, he then smiles, “well, let’s see what I can do,” he says, turning to Henry, “how does the pup look like? Is it all metal, plastic, does it have fur, or is the “fur” painted on? And how big is it? Smaller than average, same size as a real pup?”

Henry looks confused, “um… it’s made of metal,” he says, “it doesn’t have fur, nor is it painted, it’s all chrome and it’s the same size as a six month old pup”.

Cody nods, “does it have brown eyes?”

“Yeah”.

“Does its jaw move?”

“Yup”.

“Does it make dog noises, like barking, whining, whimpering?”

Henry nods.

“Does it have pre-programmed commands, or would you need to “train” it, you know, like a real dog?”

“I’d need to train it”.

“Does it have a tongue?”

“Yup”.

“A sheath too?”

“Um… what is a sheath?”

Cody chuckles, “a sheath is a dog’s “naughty parts”,” he says.

“Oh! Um… dunno… I honestly don’t focus on… um down there!”

Jeff and Cody laugh, “right, sorry,” Cody says, “well… I think I have all the details”.

“Will it drain a lot of your energy,” Jeff asks.

Cody shakes his head, “nah, it’s not to complex, I’ll be fine”.

“What are you guys talking about,” Henry asks, “and what does this all have to do with that robot-puppy?”

Jeff grins, “you’ll see,” he then turns to Cody, “alright, Cody, do your thing!”

Cody nods, closing his eyes and when he opens them, his blue eyes glow a little brighter. The sentient stretches both of his arms out and aims his palms towards the floor, suddenly strands of rainbow colored light seem to flow out of the sentient’s palm, slowly floating to the ground.

“What… what are you doing,” Henry asks.

“You’ll see,” Jeff says, “now, don’t talk, let Cody concentrate!”

Both Henry and Jeff watch as the colorful lights, which actually are Cody’s tiny nanobots, swirl around the floor, Henry’s eyes suddenly widen when he notices metallic paws appearing as the “lights” slowly begin to raise.

After half an hour, a brand new German Shepherd robot-puppy is standing on the carpet of the upstairs hallway.

Henry’s eyes widen, “it’s… HE’S beautiful,” he says, kneeling down.

Cody smiles, “I’m glad you like him,” he says, “right now, he is “sleeping”, once you name him, he’ll awake”.

Henry grins, “I’ll name him Rex,” and as soon as he says that, the eyes of the robot-puppy light up in a light blue color. The “pup” looks around and when his eyes land on Henry, it lets out an excited yip and jumps up into Henry’s arms, knocking the eight year old over, “h-hey!”

Cody and Jeff laugh as Henry starts squealing as the pup begins licking him, tail wagging, “looks like you’ll get along pretty well,” Jeff says.

Henry manages to sit up, wiping his face, “thanks Cody, so much!”

“You are welcome,” Cody says.

“Well, let’s leave the two to get to know each other,” Jeff says, Cody nods and follows Jeff down the stairs and out the front door, while Henry and his robot-puppy “Rex” head into Henry’s room.

While Henry begins training and playing with his robotic friend, Jeff and Cody arrive at the museum, a huge modern building, “museum of science,” Cody reads the large letters over the main entrance.

Jeff smiles, “yup, I thought, since you are fascinated by mechanical stuff and science, and being that you are a sentient, I thought you might want to check out some of the stuff they have,” he says, “there is even a model room filled with robots, machines and other mechanical objects currently or about to appear on the market”.

“I must admit,” Cody says, “I am curious to see what this… world has. Is it less advanced than that fake world was where from which you freed me, or is it just as advanced?”

“Well, let’s head in so you can find out,” Jeff says.

Cody’s eyes widen once they step into the building, the entrance hall is huge, with robots and machines lining the walls, and what seems to be some unmanned aircrafts hanging from the ceiling.

“Holy hell,” Cody says, “this place is massive!”

“Yup,” Jeff says, “come, let me show you around”.
