Note: Based on the ‘Wishing Bone’ stories by Sympathetic Devil.
Its real origin was shrouded in mystery. Magical scholars debated various theories through the centuries. Some said it was cut off the hand of Satan himself. Others said that it belonged to Loki, or his daughter Hel. Many said it was the prison of the spirit of a malevolent mage or sorceress. Still more thought it was the last remnant of a mischievous fairy or djinn. But whatever the debates about its origin, they all agreed on a few key facts about it:
1. It was powerful, able to transform both mind, body, even reality based on the wishes of whomever wielded it.
2. It was limited, unable to be used directly on the wielder themselves, only on others.
3. It had a mind of its own. On this all the scholars all agreed, although exactly how intelligent it was was uncertain. Most agreed it could subtly influence the mind of its wielder. Some even suggested that the longer one wielded it, the more corruption occurred, while others argued that that was just the inevitable effect of that much power being bestowed on one person. But all agreed that it had a will of its own, It greatly desired to be used, and it made sure to find its way into the hands of those that would. Which was likely the reason that,
4. Chaos followed in its wake. Whether from the wielders corruption or carelessness or the bone's own craftiness, things always seemed to get... out of hand.
