One thing the Meat Market was good at was doing new themes for every occasion. Not just the annual Halloween transformation to the Slaughterhouse, but any holiday worth sexually celebrating. St. Patrick's Day was no exception, with clover-shaped balloons, green decorations of various kinds, and the dancers wearing little but shamrock pasties and green speedos to keep their 'shillelaghs' covered. And there was lively Celtic music to keep the atmosphere going.
While Layla has done her fair share of entertaining at the Meat Market, she wasn't a full-time employee. Now that she had gotten through most of her RHS, she mostly shows up if she wants to have a bit of fun. And what was fun for her right now was taking her friends there to give them a sample of Animalia's brand of festivities.
"I really should be here," said Joy, "What would Vince think if he knew I came here?"
"Mostly why you went without him," said Layla teasingly, "Relax, Joy, nobody says you have to get up on stage or get a lapdance. We're just here to get lunch and enjoy the atmosphere."
"I doubt there's a lot in the way of lunch here," said Joy.
"Maybe not, but it's still fun," said Layla.
Of her three friends, Mary was easily the one most comfortable being in the Meat Market. Of course, she had just converted and she was still adjusting to her new energy levels. There were also her new hormone levels. Mary found herself eying the male workers, especially the stallions, with an increasingly hungry look. Not that she was thinking of getting on stage herself, but she might ask if any single men were available to scratch her growing itch. But not here, she could go to the gym.
Louise was being quiet and keeping her thoughts to herself. But after seeing what conversion did for Layla and Mary, she was starting to see the appeal in it. Of course, Louise wasn't thinking of being a cheetah or a horse. She had always been a dog-lover and wanted to be a breed that could give her a narrow waist and make sure she loses her pudgy middle. Well, one of her favorite breeds is the whippet, so that seemed like the best choice. But Louise wasn't sure about discussing this openly with the others, not until she had a few drinks at least.
Layla was fully in her element. She could easily get on the stage at any time, considering she was wearing a green plaid skirt and a green bikini top that looked like it was a size too small. Though for the moment, she was focused on making sure her friends were comfortable. She teased Joy, but she wanted to make sure she was having fun. Joy was unlikely to convert since she was married. But Layla thought that Vince probably wouldn't be hard to convince to join Animalia. The real question is what kind of Animalians would they be.
Wanting to get the party started, Layla waved over a waitress. It was a bit surprising to have their waitress be an elephant, one that was a bit more conservatively dressed. She wore a green polo shirt and green shorts. "You're one of the elephant girls from Desert Flats, right?" asked Joy.
"Yes, my name is Chrissy," said the elephant, "Is there anything I can get you."
"So you're having to work here to pay off that debt for smashing the bar?" asked Mary, "Isn't there anything else you could be doing?"
"Not at this time of year," said Chrissy, "At least I don't have to suffer as much as Marcella."
"Yes, heard she's taking it worse than you," said Layla, "And how are you doing?"
"Well, it's not my ideal place to work, but I've gotten used to it. At least guys will think twice before trying to grab me," said Chrissy.
"It doesn't have to be all work," said Lalya, "You're still allowed to have fun."
"In a place like this?" asked Chrissy dryly.
"You could be going to the gym," said Mary, "Have you even found out how much you can lift now?"
"No, I hadn't thought of that," said Chrissy, "I'm more concerned about how lightly I can touch things without breaking them."
"Everyone gets adjusted eventually," said Layla, "You're not going to be working here the rest of your life. I'm sure you'll find something else you can do after your debt is done."
"I guess so, but that probably won't be for another few months," said Chrissy.
"Just give yourself time," said Layla.
