Jennifer yawned as she stood by the bus stopped, she must have not slept well she thought. The memory of her staying up on her phone now sitting her mind. Jennifer straighten out her skirt as the bus rolled into sight. Stepping on she sat down next to her friend Emma. They'd been friends for years, and it nice to have someone spend the morning with.
Emma waved her hand "Woah Jen, that fit is pretty cute. Where did you get it?" Jen gestured down at her top and skirt, now the definition of cute and chic. "Oh you know, that designer store in downtown, I saw it and it was like, a match instantly." Jennifer gossiped. Emma laughed, "Oh my goodness no way, I've been meaning to go there. I have to say, you look quite foxy."
Jennifer tilted her head. "You think so? I never noticed." she said as she inspected herself. Emma rolled her eyes, "Well duh, especially with this big 'ol ears." Jennifer flicked her fox ears when she heard it, reaching up she gently rubbed them. "What's wrong with my ears?" Jennifer asked, her voice worried. She used to be teased about her animal like ears since she was a kid, but Emma could see past it, that's why they were friends after all.
Emma shook her head. "No, there's nothing wrong with your ears, they are completely normal." Emma pulled off her beanie to reveal her own feline lugholes. "See? I was just saying your fox ears just go well with your out it. They really accentuate your, uh, foxyness?" Jennifer laughed. "I don't know if that's a word, but I like it, yea, just gotta embrace your foxyness." Jennifer shifted in her seat as the big bumped over a pothole. "Ow!" Jennifer yelped as she fixed her tail, revealing a large fluffy tail that had been trapped under her. "Always hard to sit on these busses." Jennifer exclaimed.
Emma nodded, "Oh yeah, they hardly care to us anthros." Jennifer nodded in agreement, it was surprising that so much of society treated them so differently despite them making up almost a quarter of the population now. Jennifer looked outside the bus window to see a few people now mixed with token animal parts, from horns to tails and hooves. Emma pointed at a couple of humans as they wrapped themselves up in coats as they stepped from their homes. "Look at that, the humans can't even keep warm by themselves, and they think we're the problem." Jennifer felt the satisfaction roll across her as a coating of fur spread across her skin, lightly two toned, with her lower mouth, neck, stomach and groin a faint white, while the rest of her body was a sleek red with black accents. "Yea, I bet they had fur like us on mornings like this." Jennifer commented, looking back at Emma who had gained a flowing mass of thick grey fur, now easily depicting her as a maine coon. Emma shook her head, "Nah, they just warm up their cars before they head out is all." Jennifer tapped her forehead, "Oh duh, sorry I've just been forgetting things lately, it took me like an hour to find my socks this morning." Emma tilted her head, "Your socks? Why wear socks if you can't even wear shoes silly." Jennifer's face look confused as she scratched her muzzle. "What do you mean?" she looked down at her feet, now poorly drapped with human socks that clearly didn't fit without any shoes, just as Emma had pointed out. "Oh, you're right, why would I do that?" Jennifer shook her head as she pulled the socks off, revealing her digitigrade legs and paws. It felt correct, Jennifer felt, after all, why would she need human socks if she couldn't wear human shoes in the first place. "Maybe I mixed them up with a humans." Jennifer looked down at the socks in her clawed hands. She shook her head. "I don't know, I just can't remember." Jennifer looked back out the window, the towns population that had animal parts now completely anthropomorphic, a ram gardener was advertising their flowers to a human and a horse lady. Jennifer scrunched her nose, she must have just really needed that sleep last night.
